Thank you very much for the link.  Finally, we get confirmation on the Hammerhead! Posted Image

I'm also happy to hear that everybody gets access to the Cerberus Network and that it's free with new games.  Good news for all.

Agreed!

Now, is all that content free? (With purchase of a new copy of the game, of course).

I know the network is, but will the 2nd content pack be free? Or will THAT one have a fee?

So, Zaeed is free, right? Like Shale? And also, I'm curious to see this Hammerhead and how it'll be used in the game.

I'm glad that i'm able to afford this game new. Usually i have to buy games used, even if i don't prefer to, considering the devs don't see any money from it, but buying the game used in this instance would mean i'd miss out on all this otherwise-free DLC.

And when it includes the Hammerhead and all the quests associated with that, i presume, that's a big deal. It's sad that they have to do that, but i do understand the necessity.

Is it just me, or does it seem to imply that as long as we buy the game new, we will have free access to any DLC released?

Yeah, all that early DLC is free with new games.

The DLC after this, though, is another story.

From what I understand the content that is being released on the 26 will be free, and I IMAGINE that the "hover-mako" will be free but I'm not positive. There was no conformation on if it would be free with the press release given to IGN. It would be logical of them to make it free but then again who knows.

I give Bioware a lot of props for sending out this DLC for free first day after the *cough* forgotten *cough* Mass Effect 1 planned DLC. Though I'm sure there will be people who will say "it should have been included in the game" and all I have to say to them is "Good day sir"

That would mean people buying the game used have to pay for access to the Cerberus Network, then pay again to download DLC. This doesn't effect me, but damn.

Yeah, unless I've heard wrong, the Day 1 DLC will be free. However, what this article seems to imply to me is that BioWare is actually trying to promote what is effectively Mass Effect's version of the in-game DLC NPC (from DAO) as a selling point and, beyond that, if you buy the game used you will have to pay for the DLC NPC.

Wow.
