I wonder how many people this board consider River Tam a 'badass.'
There should've been a Trial at the beginning..

It had several but no you're right. The race to the Conduit and theft of the normandy didn't happen, everything was "gentle" throughout. We just casually strolled to Ilos and out of Virmire.David7204 wrote...
The people claiming that ME 1 had a serious tonal shift.
It was calm and gentle according to Wrex. Remember his line in ME2 "Watch yourself Shepard, Tuchanka isn't safe and homely like Feros and Ilos"? Of course, that's Wrex talking...

Are these 'soldiers' you 'tell' real or fictional, Massively?
They're as real as your 'physics qualifications'.
Heroism - for idiots.

Careful, he might be like Conrad. Might seem like a dim idiot, and yet is a doctor who wrote a dissertation on dark matter and has a number of degrees. You never know...

That's alright. He may be like that, but he also has Conrad's delusions.
He doesn't have time for training and special skills! He has a galaxy to save, and a waifu to bang! The heroism!
It's fine, because he preaches all about his 'heroism'.
I just shake my head and smile with amusement.

You know, he does kinda feel like the BSN's version of Conrad.

Trial- good idea, should have been in Mass Effect 2 when it was actually relevant.
Reapers- yes, it was their story. If you paid attention to the dialogue and atmosphere and not to how many husks you shoot, you would understand that.
Joss Whedon- good writer, but also smug and lacking in character voice. Basically the Tarantino of television.
