As a human you could romance Zevran or Fenris / Merrill who are both shorter than you. (:
But Fenris' slouching made it weird to gauge.

Did you ever play as a dwarf in DA:O?
DAO is not the most recent game. DA2 is. In DA2, they upped the height of elven men (and didn't touch the height of elven women), so they weren't shorter than a female Hawke. That concerned me, because that looked like "Gee, male LIs can't be shorter than the female PC! How silly!"

Only men with severe insecurities worry about being shorter than their (digital) women.

Ha. I always thought that was just my eyes or the angles people were standing at or differences in horizon ... but now that you've confirmed that for me ... and that I've checked a few Youtube vids to be sure ... @_@ that's ridiculous.
Sorry. I hadn't realized that the elves had been tweaked beyond their facial features.

Them's the facts. It isn't garbage, it's reality.

You may not have noticed, but Qunari, elves, and dwarves do not exist in real life and don't need to adhere to real life averages. kthxbaibai.

and since fiction can be based off of reality, sometimes warped in people's imagination, it would not be a stretch to have female qunari be shorter/smalle
also given the lore that Sten introduced that females aren't expected to be warriors, one could deduce that they are the smaller of the sexes

If they're anything like that in the game, I think other races can all expect to be looking up when talking to a female Qunari.

Why shouldn't they?

Yeah, sexual dimorphism is a real thing, and probably applies to fictional species even in Dragon Age. I don't think your request is unreasonable, but I also don't think that having dimorphism in game is unreasonable.
Yes? And it's only considered sexual dimorphism if the male is taller than the female? It cannot be the other way around for one or two fictional species?

In DAO, elves were scaled down versions of the human rigs (so were dwarves, if you're curious). In DA2, they are actually a distinct model.
Though suggesting that it was intentionally done to ensure that male elves will be taller than even female humans is a bit of an adversarial position to take (and ultimately one that just turns into he-said/she-said since there's likely not much in the way of what we could say that could convince you otherwise).

That's not an answer.
I don't really understand. Are you trying to get people to agree with you? This doesn't seem like the way.

Why should they?
There's nothing saying that they should or shouldn't.
They are, however, drawn and created by human beings and with that implicit assumptions will occur.
However, stating the following comes across as a rather hostile perspective:
And the height of elven men was upped in DA2 to make them the same height as human women, because, y'know, if men are shorter than their women the world folds in upon itself.
You immediately will put me on the defensive, which means you now must break through my irrational humanity as the implication that I (or my colleagues) may have had biased (and discriminatory) reasons for the decision is going to create an unnecessary wall of resistance that never needed to be created.

Sexual dimorphism will be present simply because men are taller on average than women, and making height sliders is highly unlikely.
The Qunari seem to have a rather pronounced sexual dimorphism. Females will be much thinner than the immensly ripped males, and I wouldn't be surprised if females cannot have horns anywhere near as large as even the size of the average male's horns.

They are horn headed giants after all. The males being huge and the females being little will hit my ehh buttons.

I personally would actually argue that reality should be the default state for any creation, and that deviations occur from there.
