That's not an answer.
I don't really understand. Are you trying to get people to agree with you? This doesn't seem like the way.
That's not an answer, either. You come in here with "THESE ARE THE FACTS OF REALITY" but cannot tell me why every fictional species in a video game should adhere to real life.
Why shouldn't they? To be less typical. Short woman/tall man is a pretty typical occurence not just in real life, in media. So? Be less typical. Break out of the mould. Pair up the tall gal with the short man. Pair up two tall brawny women. Pair up two short, hairy men. Pair up a tall, brawny woman with a short pudgy man. Have something other than "short woman, tall man. Woo."

You will get what you want with a Qunari female Inquisitor who romances a human or elven male.

Verisimilitude.
Ps: I would also like to see Mr Pounce-a-lot shack up with a Mabari, so we get something other that the same boring Doggy love. Also Nugs and chickens should also be included for greater diversity.

Why?
You give suggestions, but you're not explaining them except to "break out of the mould." Why is that necessary or beneficial? What does it accomplish?

Perhaps. But, like I said, DA2 concerned me. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Qunari women turn out to either be shorter or just as tall as human men, because of the "woman must be shorter" bullplop that people insist on clinging to like a crusty barnacle.

I remember in the NWN2 character creation, it was possible to adjust the protagonist's height. Granted, this wasn't perfect, and was basically just a stretch/compress function that meant tall = skinny and short = stocky.

Hm.
I guess they could end up doing that, but I hope not. Making Qunari women shorter than human men would just be silly, and unfortunate. Why would they miss such an opportunity to include Qunari as a playable race that is physically imposing? Females included.
I think alot of the appeal of playing a Qunari is the fact that both male and female could snap a human in half.
In short (he he) I doubt they will make the females shorter than human men. Same height is more of a possibility, but still, I am pretty certain they will be taller.

I can't help but find it a little weird how aggressive the OP is about this subject.
When Katie Holmes began dating Tom Cruise, people wanted them to break up simply because she was taller than him. People also claimed she was no good for him... just because she was taller than him. There were even a few people who wanted her to get some kind of magic surgery to become shorter than him. People said she was being "rude" and "disrespectful" just for wearing heels and making herself even taller. There is a gross "how dare you be taller than a man" attitude that people get with tall women because "women must be shorter than a male partner" (which is a gross attitude all on its own). And I see this crap almost every day. So that would be why I am so weird about it.

I personally would actually argue that reality should be the default state for any creation, and that deviations occur from there.
That's one perspective and it's fine and all. Though there are other species where the female is larger than the male.
That doesn't give an indication that something *should* or *should not* be the case.

I don't understand the logical trajectory from male elf height increase in one game to Qunari female height decrease in another game.
No one (except the developers) can explain the male elf height increase.
Your assumption invalidates your argument.
I think Qunari height will depend more on the level design.

In DAO, elves were scaled down versions of the human rigs (so were dwarves, if you're curious). In DA2, they are actually a distinct model.
Though suggesting that it was intentionally done to ensure that male elves will be taller than even female humans is a bit of an adversarial position to take (and ultimately one that just turns into he-said/she-said since there's likely not much in the way of what we could say that could convince you otherwise).
I did notice the scaled models in DAO, but at the time (and to this day) it never bothered me.
I'm not upset. My use of the word ridiculous was definitely strong. I only meant because I had become attached to the elves the way they were, and that they were even then, to me, distinct from other elves that are so tall, lethe and regal. I'm would love to hear anything you'd have to say to convince me of either case. (:
This is the first time I've been quoted by a mod! I feel so noticed! If I still have any of your attention Allan, I'd like to say that I have really appreciated and enjoyed any input you've added to the Dragon Age or Mass Effect boards on these forums, whether silly or serious. "Thank you, thank you so much!" (at 9:53)
Also, WAY BACK WHEN, you were wondering if they kept the Krogan easter egg in Mark of the Assassin, and I was so upset I had no screenshot to add to the discussion (but you know, the internet provides) and they did:

Huh. Wonder why they changed it. Might have been something they just did instinctually as they were creating unique elf skeletons and body meshes for the first time. OR they're secretly out to enslave women. It could go either way really. BioWare's consistent trend of giving you the freedom to play a female protagonist and creating male love interests for minority female players has always made it clear to me that they are a den of misogyny. You can see how Allan's posts drip with hate for the fairer sex.Sabariel wrote...

Or you could just play a human or elf or dwarf.
It would sadden me if female Qunari were shorter than male humans. I expect them to be slimmer and shorter than male Qunari I'd rather they be bigger than any other species though.

I now find your perspective to be frankly insulting to myself and my colleagues. After attempting to strike up a conversation about how this may not be the case, I found my responses ignored while you continue on about your assumptions must be reality.
You'd like this to not be the case. Fine. Feedback noted. Convince me why this thread should not be closed, because right now I'm of the opinion that you are more interested in reaffirming to everyone that we altered the elves specifically to make them physically submissive and to, frankly, be sexist about it.
Now, I am willing to admit that my interpretation of your intentions is fueled by a perspective of mine that is rather defensive at the moment. So how about we talk instead of letting each other's assumptions conclude the worst in each other.
