Fine. Forget it. Make every female shorter than every male because reality. And, for good measure, make everyone white too, or maybe group a few PoC around the white characters like accessories because reality. IDGAC anymore. I'm done with this site.

Yes, I'm sure that was merely a comment.

And you still haven't explained why any fictional species in a video game should adhere to reality... especially a reality in which such crappy notions exist.

I haven't explained that because you never gave a reason that the fictional species should deviate from reality.

But I'll give you a reason. Maybe you'll give me one back.

One reason is that it lowers the level of suspension of disbelief necessary to engage the product. When art imitates life, the art can better go about asking the questions that need to be asked.

Dragon Age is not a sociopolitical commentary, which means that deviating from reality would require an ingame-value to it that overcomes to inherent cost of having art not imitate life. We've yet to see one.

Really? It's a video game about magic, demons, dragons, elves, horned beings, killer rock beasts, and you're talking about suspension of disbelief? This is the same crap people drag out over and over again. Dragons? Yup, great! Magic? Okay! Demons? Neato! A fictional species where the females are taller than the males? HELL NO! AGH! THAT'S JUST TOO UNBELIVABLE!! I'M MELTING! MELTING! OH, THE WORLD! THE WORLD!!!!! A female PC that's actually taller than some of her male LIs? Repeat above.

I agree. Give me a woman towering over the men! I don't recall offhand how closely Fenris and female Hawke are in height, I think it's pretty close (but yes, his slouching does obscure that and was annoying- I assume it's a defensive thing). I'd have no problem if female Hawke was noticeably a few inches taller than he was. I like it in writing too, I'll make a woman taller than a man just to **** with people. It'll be glorious to see an argument about how men should be taller than women, even across different species. Bring it on.

As for the current discussion, I absolutely hope the female Qunari is taller than the human and elf species. A fem Qunari mage with a short, cute elf, probably my second playthrough after I play a Dalish.

If this is the way you with to take the discussion, then this thread closes as it's served its purpose of allowing you to air your grievance.

I'm pretty sure Bioware made the Female qunari taller than Human Males

Same.

If they aren't then I could see the purpose of this thread but atm there's no reason to believe that's the case.
