Score is not everything!
Just because you score 4th dosent mean you are a bad Player.
When you are a Team-Player, help with Objectives and dont run off to die on the other side of the Map, then you already understood the game and will be a value to the Match.
And most important for me atleast, play for fun, not for score!

Score is almost meaningless.
If you don't need reviving constantly, you help with objectives, and the team extracts, your doing just fine.
Some players are highly aggressive at playing the game, others aren't.
Thats one of the biggest factors in scoring.

Dude...that whole quote should be on a loading screen during multiplayer...

Don't worry about score, the scoreboard is on cracklsdmethamphetamushrooms anyway and rarely makes any sense.

Feel free to add me if you like, I'd be happy to help ya get used to gold. PSN in the sig.

As far as packs go, my advice is to buy veterans until you max out your common weapon mods these are very useful. After than I recommend spectre packs as you will get your uncommons faster with them than with 99k packs. Once uncommon stuff is maxed then move to 99k packs.

I started playing this game without giving a flying poop about the scoreboard. Up to now, i still don't care. Playing w bsner will help you improve a lot, that i guarantee. For being carried on silver by doc n fop, to being carried on gold by chimeran and wng.. now i am being carried by everyone on platinum.

I'm pretty bad too(in terms of scores, so I try to help with objectives as much as I can) but I find it fun. I'll play bronze until I'm more comfortable and have better weapons.

OP, you just need time. You'll see how to attack spawns, learn AI behavior, how to build better characters on their power trees, and how to be a great team player just by playing more.

You're welcome to add me: PSN = clydeintheshell. I'd be happy to help you out.

I feel you OP, I have done some Gold solo's and a Platinum solo already, but I still suck when playing with Spectres. While on normal pugs I'm better at scoring high, when playing with more competent and experienced players like some of the PS3 Spectres, I am at 70-80k at the end of the game lol. But you know what OP, that doesn't bother me and nor should it bother you. We are fairly new to this game. And by the way, the PS3 Spectres I met are all very nice people trying to help other players. So forget the scoreboard, I even think it's a bad idea to have something like this in a co-op game. My priorities in each game are: Try to stay alive as good as you can, help killing enemies, revive teammates when possible, use consumables wisely (no unnecessary missile nuking), help with the objectives and the last and most important point for me while I'm playing this game: I want to have fun. I'm gonna send you a friend request and we can play whatever you want (Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum) - if we extract we extract and if not - well, who really cares? As long as we're all having a good time as a team, everything is fine.

Same for me. I have a mic, can help during playing and also carry, if needed. ^_^

Max out your common weapons first. Then max out your uncommons before buying premium spectre packs.

I don't know why people say this, it's terrible advice because except for the Mantis the commons are useless, and so are most of the uncommons. Maxing them is a waste of time. I never use any of them anymore ever.

Basically, if you don't like/aren't good at sniping, then skip worrying about commons completely. They're useless on gold and above. If you do want to snipe, only worry about getting common cards until your Mantis is maxed - it's highly effective on gold with an infiltrator and phasic rounds, particularly against Geth and Cerberus.

Your number one priority right now for buying packs should be to make sure you have enough consumables for each match. Whatever credits you have left after making sure your consumables are good I would spend on Spectre packs or Premium spectre packs, whichever you like.

Gold weapons which are very good and you should get excited about when you unlock them and level them up:

Claymore, Widow, Piranha, Arc Pistol, Acolyte, Raider, Reegar, Collector Sniper Rifle, and the Revenant when used in conjunction with specific builds (AKA TSol, but also Destroyer/GI).

I found it really a waste of time and effort that I believed an advice as yours early in the game. I have spent countless PSPs on getting nothing else but Common weapons and gears, instead of spamming 5 Veteran packs and getting much more instead.

So OP, if you want a quick harvest of goodies, stick to Veteran until you have no common to upgrade and only then switch higher. Initially it is a pain to have only Common weapons, but boy you will get into second gear after that. ;)

Low scores are my secret shame too...
I just put on a cute voice so others don't notice.
