Does this happen to any of you, or is it just me?

Ever since middle school I've always noticed a pattern of events in my life. It's odd actually, how I can predict when something bad will happen to me just by the fact that everything is going good.

For example. Yesterday I found out my remark for Sociology went up two grades, giving me an overall A. Awesome, great! Now, when I get back home there are no interruptions and then at the gym, I practically had it all for myself.

Awesome!

But then I knew something bad was going to happen, and it'll make up for all these good things. I don't know what exactly, but it's foreboding just knowing **** is going to go down...

My computer's drivers are buggy and I have yet to resolve the problem of my monitor's sudden urge to go 'off signal.' The only solution I've found to the problem hasn't worked.

Friday night was **** and reminded me how much I hate socialising sometimes.

The five universities I've asked if they will accept level 3 diplomas as an entry requirement have yet to reply, and the two of the five I've called gave me no clear answer and directed me to their email.

ROFL

So, is it just me? Or am I some sort of anomaly. Not even Seldon could predict events just through gut feelings.

Granted, this happens 8/10 times. There are periods that are just uneventful ^_^

Nah, your not alone, except maybe in your ability to predict it. Life has this thing about going from absolute highs to downright lows. Problem is, I think a lot of us just expect the better times to keep on rolling, so that just makes it hit all the more harder when they eventually run their course. Having recently gone from one of those better weeks to one of the worst in a matter of hours, I know I do.

Life has a weird sense of humour.

Sometime your subconscious send you signal. It not magic. Your subconscious may have made the calculation for you and send you a '' I have a bad feeling about this''. It's not prediction or whatever. it's subconscious expectation.

So you're saying that I'm not a wizard? :D

I pretty much figured that out; but I just prefer to use the word prediction. It's still an enigma though, how well I can tell bad things are going to happen to me. Problem is, I'm not so good at the positive side.

No you rolled Gnome Bard that means you must get kicked at every possible opportunity!

It used to happen to me, until I became really cautious, I started thinking everything through and now bad things rarely happen. So now I'm waiting to get hit by a car, mauled by a polar bear (I live in Australia) or accidently watch a horrible reality tv show like Keeping up with the Kardashians.

You're prone to suspicion, like I am. Think more logically. Believing that bad things follow good things is superstitious karmic nonsense that magicians believe.

Some people lead a charmed life, blessed by God, some a medium life, some good some bad, and some are cursed/accursed plagued by demons and misfortune and abandoned by God, .
Shrugs.
Sound like you have some good some bad.
Invest in antiviral/antmalware software for your pc, try to identify other schools that might accept your application and try to stay positive .
Good luck.

See, it's not this. I know it does sound like it, but my general thought process is like "damn, I just got laid.... now to wait for **** to go down." There is no logic behind it. I've tried to suss it out. It's a completley random chain of events that balance each-other out. Apart from the two days a month I think about it, it generally becomes so normal that I don't think about it at all. I just know it's going to happen and it does. Perhaps it's me being negative and foreboding brings about things like an arguement or falling out. I don't add those factors to the equation, they are my fault.

But when things are seemingly out of my control and they just happen, it's like "damn, what the hell?" I don't believe bad things follow good things, it's more of a personal mystery that seems to happen only to me (as I've discussed it with friends before.)

But spirits, energy, and all that hocus pocus? Nah. I never think about that, and have never thought about it like that before.

Have you ever thought that your own anticipation makes it seem like it's going to happen? It sounds almost like magical thinking. I know you're denying that's the case because you say you don't believe in spirits, magic, hocus pocus. But, you're thinking process makes it seem as you're an anomaly in this case. You know it's illogical, but you're making a connection here with a to-good-to-be-true event, an expectation of a bad event, and a bad event that happens in the future.

Just a question: Have you ever doubting that idea further? Like how that bad event happened because you anticipate that event to be bad?

Life is filled with both the good and the bad, and I've gotten fairly adept at predicting when something's going to get real awful quick. I get the feeling a lot at work. There's typically a moment when I can see when the line of customers is about to skyrocket. A certain level of precognitive intuition is very handy.

So nope, it ain't just you. :P

This happens to me quite often. When something good happens, all is not what it seems. Nothing goes wrong per say, It just goes wrong in that problems pop up when you think everything is good.

Of course. I've always figured that was the case, but then, even when trying to stay positive, **** just goes down the drain once more. Logically, these things happen because of coincidence. But this coincidence has been happening for so bloody long and it's become so obvious that I begin to doubt logic. Despite me being an atheist and never taking things like karma seriously.

So, my 'ability' doesn't come from midichlorians xD it's just that it's been happening for so long, that I've been able to know when things are going to get bad. It's like a mathematician knowing the next number in a pattern.

Seriously, it's hard to explain without making it sound I'm counting on some karmic energy to guide my life; I'm not. They are a series of events that have been occurring for so long at such an obvious pattern, that I've become good at knowing when stuff is going to get 'bad.'

I have not noticed bad things happen after good things. My mind has always wandered towards string of good and bad events. Curse our superstitious ancestral baggage.

I get what op is saying, it's like a balance, to much good something bad happens. Try living with the ying to your yang. I have a great day and when I get home she's miserable, vice versa withought fail everytime.

It's how you handle the negative in life, you need to work through the negative to make it a neutral or possibly a positive. Life isn't easy it's not supposed to be.

You're a dark sorcerer.

The same things happen to me. Only I'm not wicked or a sorcerer. I think you just subconsciously become use to the shuffling luck and naturally know the good luck won't last
