I really want to like the Argus. It's the fucking Big Iron firing three consecutive shots. But it's so underwhelming. One day I'll figure out a passable kit to use for it.

The only kit that can fix Argus is the Tsol. He has the Stability, Accuracy and ROF and those are the main weaknesses of Argus.

Nope. Just higher damage doesn't fix it.

On the heavier targets. using Marksman on the TSol with the Argus is most likely a DPS loss over just spamming Proximity Mine.

Since RoF doesn't reduce min refire time, Marksman doesn't get anywhere close to a 50% damage output boost. It's closer to 10%.

Well then, if Tsol can't, then NOBODY can.

A Turian Soldier spamming Proxy Mine will still do solid damage with it.

However, the Human Soldier and Quarian Marksman will both produce greater numbers on paper at the cost of needing a Stability Mod in the second slot.

LOL, who gives a crap about paper DPS if only 1 bullet out of 3 hit the target because the spread is insane. And refire time is so awful the enemies can strafe your shots with no problem even when you heavily lead them.

so I guess the saber is crap ......also example A & B....look I even gave you shields so you could survive long enough to get a kill:D

The fact that burst fire weapons don't benefit properly from RoF bonuses is a problem.

If they did, marksman, hunter mode, and devastator mode would all make them decent, especially the argus.

But the fact that the refire time is unaffected by Rof Bonuses wrecks the whole thing.

Case in point, Tsol with argus vs Tsol with revenant:
Both rare AR's.
Both the same kind of weight range.
Both inaccurate as standard.
Both kick like a mule in any hands other than those of a turian.
Both fire too slowly as standard to kill quickly enough.

But marksman makes the revenant a murder machine, whilst the argus still ends up being meh, even under marksman, because of the refire rate.

Valkyrie is better than Argus in almost every aspect, but if you can handle the kick (Turians), Argus can give you better results. Why? Because it's higher burst damage means killing basic mooks in one burst is much, much easier.

But that's really the only reason for it's existence, and it's not much of a reason considering how fast and accurately Valkyrie can send its second burst.

Your comparison is so idiotic that words cannot describe it.

Plus Argus does 1190 damage IF all 3 bullets HIT.  And Saber does that in 1. Plus it's more accurate and since it's single shot, the recoil doesn't matter you stupid.

Valkyrie will send 2 accurate headshot bursts faster than Argus finishes 1. And those 3 bullets scatter all over the place.

People who can aim? The spread isn't really that bad even if it doesn't have Sniper Rifle like accuracy.

Also, I hear the Quarian Marksman has no way of increasing weapon accuracy.

According to Cyonan's spreadsheet, that's just not true.

EDIT: And I said "if you can handle the kick (Turians)"

The spread is almost like of that of an Incisor.

Even the Collector rifle is better.

Damage, ROF and Accuracy.
Stability damper + Extended Barrel + AP ammo IV + Rail Amp III
Acolyte as secondary weapon
This makes me feel comfortable on Plat.

ROF as Cyonan says doesn't matter. It'll still have 0.65 seconds of minimum refire.

Recoil does matter with Saber. Go ahead and try it out for yourself: take the Saber for a ride with Quarian Marksman, first without
any recoil assistance, and a second time with Stability Dampener, Barrage Upgrade and Stabilizatin Module III. There's a big difference.

I'm not saying Argus is better than Saber - because it isn't - but it does have one advantage over it: it handles shields better.

You've no idea what you're talking about, do you?

Argus has ROF of 500, which means it fires one three-round burst in 2 * 60 / 500 = 0.24 seconds. Refire time only kicks in after the last shot of the burst.

Valkyrie has ROF of 600 and refire time of 0.25, so it shoots two two-round bursts in 60 / 600 + 0.25 + 60 / 600 = 0.45 seconds.

A Batarian Vanguard with a reegar VII and a level 2 harrier?! Dear god, his cooldown must have been about 15 seconds on biotic charge.

It probably was. I think I only saw him Charge once or twice the entire game.

Probably took him five waves to cool down after the first one...

LOL. It was a metaphor. But you get the point. You can fire 3 bursts of Valkyrie right into enemies heads and they will all hit. With Argus, if you aim for the head - 1 maybe hit, 2 will go over it cos of the spread. So you HAVE to aim for the torso which brings the practical damage down. Plus the Valkyrie has 300% modifier on headshots.

Valkyrie wins hands down and it's not even a challenge.

The Incisor's spread isn't bad either.

Not pinpoint != bad

The main thing is doing something to handle the recoil.

Also Air Quotes, you can't have the Valkyrie's second shot hit as accurate as the first without using a scope.

Or fixing it via game files like I did(it was actually really easy).

"Metaphor". Do you even know what the word means. Nice try taking the easy way out after it's clear you don't know what you're talking about. You're just dead wrong and you know it.

Yeah, Valkyrie has 300% headshot damage while Argus has 250% headshot damage, which means Argus burst to the head still does way more damage. Again, Argus can take down a mook faster than Valkyrie.

I've never said Valkyrie doesn't win hands down. It does. But Argus stil kills a mook faster - if you can handle the kick.

If you can't headshot with Argus using a Turian, learn to play. I mean, saying things like "recoil doesn't matter with Saber" gives me the idea you've never actually used these weapons outside Citadel firing range.

LOL. Aim for the balls - get a headshot - best sniper rifle ev0r! Same for Argus.

Get 3 bullets to land on the head with Argus or Incisor - now do it consistently. Impossible.

Valkyrie - no problem.

BS. 1vs1 with me and show me consistent 3 round Argus burst headshots. Recoil doesn't matter with Saber the similar way it does't matter with the Black Widow.

Valkyrie destroys Argus trough and trough, It can switch from target to target with pin-point precision and you can land headshots with both bullets at very long ranges even on non-Turian kits.

Maybe they were trying out kits they were inexperienced with? I could have a great weapon equipped but if I'm testing out how to play a character it won't help me much. Of course it could also be that they just aren't all that great at playing the game. It isn't really fair to judge the skill of another based off of one performance though. I have yet to use the Argus so I cannot comment on that.
