The game has quite begun and I am already stuck.  I went to bed last night with the hope of waking up with a new perspective on this, but nada.

I am stuck where the team is saying that they will take cover by the door and for me to take point.

Thanks -

Again, this should be over in the spoilers section.

The game will put two circles on the ground showing where you should send your squad mates. Use the dpad to order them into position. Left dpad sends the squad mate pictured at the bottom on the left side to where ever the cross hairs are pointing. Right dpad does the same for the squad mate pictured on the right.

Once that is done, Sheppard needs to take cover behind the concrete barrier in front of the door and between the two squad mates.

Essentially, it is simply a tutorial for squad commands.

You order one squadmate to take cover on one side of the door, order one squadmate to take cover on the other side of the door, then you take cover behind the barricade in the middle.

For console, you press left on the D-Pad to order the squadmate on your right, and press Right on the D-Pad to order the squadmate on your left. For PC, the controls are Q (left squadmate) and E (right squadmate). Just move the crosshairs to one side of the door (there should be arrow icons showing you where to place the squadmates?) and press left/Q or right/E. Then do the same with the other side of the door. Then take cover yourself behind the barricade.

Once everyone is in cover, a cutscene should start and you will move to the next part where you will face down a YMIR mech. Shoot it dead.

Assault rifles, shotguns, and SMGs deal extra damage against shields.
Pistols, assault rifles, and sniper rifles deal extra damage against armor.
Some powers also deal extra damage to different defenses (read the description of the powers to see if your available powers deal extra damage to a defense).

I am not sure what the button is labeled on the PS2. It is the A key on the xbox that you use for cover. When you first woke up you had a tutorial telling you how to take cover.

Thanks Cap and Gown.... I had "paper" mapped the the keys for the PS3 to emulate the Xbox while playing ME1... it is the "X" on the PS3. I had been pressing the dpad buttons trying to "take cover".

We are good to go.

Thanks again.

Btw, while I have your attention. I want to thank you, RedCaesar97 and Caradoc2000. All of you have been very helpful and cordial. I appreciate that.
