You should do it. Pick Sten and Dog and its worth it for their interaction alone and Sten's appreciation of irony.

I never get to see the break out scene in DA:O though I have tried many many times. For whatever reason that scene is bugged in my game. Only one companion ever appears and they seemingly are having a conversation with the other, but you can only hear half of it.

So I always have to opt for breaking myself out, or just winning the fight.

I let myself get captured just for the lols of the rescueing XD I hope we really get to see more of that. The part in MotA was a bit short...

The Captured plot is funny, though it bugs me a bit if I think about it because everyone acts kind of stupid or odd.

I mean, why does everyone else get let go? Why does no one care to investigate the "guard" who accompanied the Warden? Does Loghain's forces get many Dalish recruits?

Apparently he does :) And in my case, he gets a lot of dwarves too.;)

It's happened in both games to this poin,t the one mentioned above and also in the DLC MotA. I personally think twice is enough.

I'll admit, I love the captured trope. Or having your party split and controlling both, ala Dxun/Onderon in KotOR 2.

I completely agree, OP. I really liked getting captured in Origins because it not only provided some awesome companion funnies, it also allowed my rogue characters to show off their various skills. There were many different ways that particular scenario could play out which greatly contributed to the RPing and replayability. I would love if they included some similar opportunities in Inquisition.

I do not want a forced capture again, I don't like being forced in those situations even if the content is good (the companions rescue, Shepard in that one dlc taking over the mech).

The content is good, just find a different way to take the player out of the picture. Have the player send a team on a mission that excludes him perhaps.

It's not forced. The situation is completely avoidable.

No one investigates "the guard" because:

a) They already know who she is
B) They're the derpiest guards in the history of Thedas

Considering what happens during the rescue mission, I'll go with option b.

I don't really want to see something like that again. It's only funny the first time around.

MotA isn't, and you manage to kill him, his Wervern and a whole lot more just a couple of hours later.

I'm bothered by this myself; Sten and Morrigan get to go free but the Warden and Alistair get captured???? And when I'm disguised as a guard are elves even allowed to be guards??? (I suppose with a helmet on they could just not really pay attention and assume she's simply a short, weird-looking human, although that wouldn't work if she was dalish :3)

Zevran and Oghren were the best rescue duo at Fort Drakon... "I'm the pretty one!" *spits drink over keyboard*

I love quests that mix things up like letting you transform into things and playing as companions. Really like to see more of this in DAI.

I liked Sten and Oghren too.

This could be fun. Having the option of Completing a quest without fighting always good.

I'd rather get myself out, to be honest, and not just walking out the door like Drakon; organising other prisoners, making a plan, maybe even using a mass prison break as an opportunity to take control of a keep if you arrange things right.

Don't like the idea that my character should just sit around and wait to be rescued. Plus, something about controlling a party without the PC just seems weird to me; if my character isn't around it seems like it should be a cutscene.

Cauthrien, that b***h! Honestly I never really did the captured quest in my latter playthroughs. I would just beat Cauthrien every time. Sometimes I would take her out no problem. Others I would keep reloading again, and again, and again...>:(

One of my favourite quests, as I didn't even know it existed until my second playthrough. I was all ready to reload and then "BOOM!" Have a new quest.

Now I usually make sure I get captured there as it makes Loghain seem more competent, and as you said, delivers a very amusing quest.

I'd love a similar quest in DA:I.

I know that Ser Cauthrien was a wretched wench and it sucked to get taken down by the likes of her...but the people who didn't get captured really missed out on one of the best parts of the game.

And for the record, Sten & Oghren were the best rescue duo, although Sten & the mabari is a close second.

You know, most players never actually came across that part of the game because it never happens if you win the fight. But it was pretty cool so I wouldn't mind a similar thing happening.

I think that most people on their first playthrough end up getting their asses kicked by Ser Cauthrien, so I doubt that's true.

I approve.
Especially if the PC can't escape on his own. Enough with the shoddy jails or shoddy guards.

Have the Pc is a dozen different chains so he couldn't escape on his own even if he was hulk. Have the party stage a large attack top free everyone - and just in case the attack failed, a small inflitration team to get you out.
