You should do it. Pick Sten and Dog and its worth it for their interaction alone and Sten's appreciation of irony.fchopin wrote...
I never get captured in DAO so do not see this.

So I always have to opt for breaking myself out, or just winning the fight.

I mean, why does everyone else get let go? Why does no one care to investigate the "guard" who accompanied the Warden? Does Loghain's forces get many Dalish recruits?

The Captured plot is funny, though it bugs me a bit if I think about it because everyone acts kind of stupid or odd.

Apparently he does

The content is good, just find a different way to take the player out of the picture. Have the player send a team on a mission that excludes him perhaps.

It's not forced. The situation is completely avoidable.Beerfish wrote...
I do not want a forced capture again, I don't like being forced in those situations even if the content is good (the companions rescue, Shepard in that one dlc taking over the mech).

No one investigates "the guard" because:
a) They already know who she is
Considering what happens during the rescue mission, I'll go with option b.
I don't really want to see something like that again. It's only funny the first time around.

MotA isn't, and you manage to kill him, his Wervern and a whole lot more just a couple of hours later.

I'm bothered by this myself; Sten and Morrigan get to go free but the Warden and Alistair get captured???? And when I'm disguised as a guard are elves even allowed to be guards??? (I suppose with a helmet on they could just not really pay attention and assume she's simply a short, weird-looking human, although that wouldn't work if she was dalish :3)

I love quests that mix things up like letting you transform into things and playing as companions. Really like to see more of this in DAI.

I liked Sten and Oghren too.

"Your big friend doesn't talk much, does he?"
"He's saving it up for the act. He's very serious about comedy."

Don't like the idea that my character should just sit around and wait to be rescued. Plus, something about controlling a party without the PC just seems weird to me; if my character isn't around it seems like it should be a cutscene.

Now I usually make sure I get captured there as it makes Loghain seem more competent, and as you said, delivers a very amusing quest.
I'd love a similar quest in DA:I.

And for the record, Sten & Oghren were the best rescue duo, although Sten & the mabari is a close second.

You know, most players never actually came across that part of the game because it never happens if you win the fight. But it was pretty cool so I wouldn't mind a similar thing happening.
I think that most people on their first playthrough end up getting their asses kicked by Ser Cauthrien, so I doubt that's true.

Especially if the PC can't escape on his own. Enough with the shoddy jails or shoddy guards.
Have the Pc is a dozen different chains so he couldn't escape on his own even if he was hulk. Have the party stage a large attack top free everyone - and just in case the attack failed, a small inflitration team to get you out.
