Have the Pc is a dozen different chains so he couldn't escape on his own even if he was hulk. Have the party stage a large attack top free everyone - and just in case the attack failed, a small inflitration team to get you out.

I agree. In DA:O it was way too easy to break out and fool the guards, IMO. I'm sure we all can agree on that our Inquisitor will bloody amazing and could kick the crap out of anyone who crosses them. I don't think there's anything wrong with our companions taking the reigns once. Just once of course, anymore and it would be insulting.
