Playing games such as Blacklight retribution has widened my perspective on a lot of things. In Blacklight, accuracy and stability are more valuable traits than sheer damage, and I applied this mentality when designing the "ideal" set up for the argus.

You can easily push sub 18 with this build, my first attempt was a wave 9 sync kill at 13:17, so sub 18 versus cerberus is easily possible. I might practice a bit more to get used to the abominably unresponsive thermal scope.


Weapon set up:

Argus X.

Thermal Scope V
Stability module V


Why these mods? Because when your gun is capable of delivering over 3000 damage per 3 headshots, doing less damage but having more shots hit the target is more valuable.. To that end, using scope and stability allows you to comfortably take down any gold level enemy in 2 bursts... or less.

For atlas killing, I took the piranha X with HVB and Smart choke, because 14 rounds of triple hit-exploitative goodness absolutely wrecks the atlas enemy.



Equipment:

Barrage Upgrade V: 
Tops out your stability so there is no need to fight recoil, ensuring more shots hit where you want them to.

Armour Piercing rounds IV: 
A no brainer here; this fulfills the purpose of adding essential penetration to your main weapon, and greatly enhances your designated boss killer weapon's armour damage output.

Cyclonic IV:
It's impossible to play at 120fps without one on such a small map which does not allow for effective kiting.

Assault Rifle Rail Amp III:
What's better than damage? More damage.




And I guess people want to know.... Is this modded in any way?

Neither of the weapons, none of the consumables nor the destroyer kit are in any way modified.

The objectives are set to return 100% pizzas / escorts. You probably wouldn't notice this if I hadn't told you, but the escort drone is moving slower than normal, because I forgot to return it to its regular speed...

Other things which I deliberately left in for fun...

Centurions hit for 129 damage (up from 70) and shoot at 550 rpm.
Combat engineers hit for 500 damage per shot with their Destructalanx pistols.
Guardians have double damage, higher accuracy and fire at 225 rpm.






In conclusion...

On an immobile kit, the range and power it provides are substantial, and if you have the accuracy (and there's not too much screenshake) you can put out an impressive amount of anti-infantry suppression.

Building the argus with precision over damage as your modus operandi will give better results than going for boosting it's damage. It holds up favourably versus every enemy bar reapers; who unfortunately are the DPS faction.

Is it "better" than other guns? I don't know and I don't care. The gun is amazingly fun to use.

Nice to see more use of the Destroyer for making bad guns good too, rather than just GI.

This is what the burst fire weapons are supposed to do, the fact you need to sacrifice everything to make them acctually accurate is the real issue, now the argus doesn't need to be that accurate normally, but what it is, it is so far off that it cannot function without them.

This... does not apply on console.

Revives don't give synch kill immunity at all, and don't give damage immunity once you stand up and start running.

This may be the case but it's not a good decision to try and prove it with a non stock game setup.  Nobody else has the chance to even test.

Are you sure, Jery? I could swear I've seen it plenty in console vids... I might be wrong, but I don't think I am. It definitely works like that on pc, anyway.
