Revival grants brief immunity. Hence why you can stand up and run without taking damage, the same applies for sync kills.

This... does not apply on console.

Revives don't give synch kill immunity at all, and don't give damage immunity once you stand up and start running.

Are you sure, Jery? I could swear I've seen it plenty in console vids... I might be wrong, but I don't think I am. It definitely works like that on pc, anyway.

It does?!

I remember having been sync kill right after a medigel.
I will never be able to use my mouse like this (13h:27 for example or headshot through altlases) :) and my pirhana doesnot kill an atlas with 2/3 clips, I should try your builds. Did U customize its aim too ?

I am 100% absolutely certain.

I have never seen a revive by medigel or teammate provide synch-kill immunity, and many hundreds of times I have seen Phantoms synch-kill people who were revived next to them, before they regained control of their character.

And there is no damage immunity on console when you start moving, you can take damage from the moment you regain control of the avatar.

Only an ops pack can prevent a Phantom Synch-kill on console.

It would not take long to assemble video footage of damage occurring after revives, but I don't think anyone who plays on console is going to disagree with me about this. Maybe I'm wrong.

I've had it happen once with a phantom.

Ive had it happen once.

That's only the second time I've ever heard of it happening.

It's definitely not a normal mechanic on console, though... I've seen hundreds of examples of revive-into-synch kills.

I vote Annomander gives this exact mod to Air Quotes and we see how quickly he can solo Gold with the same kit using the Valkyrie.

I don't need his retarded mods. Just play the effin game as is and then record. Not this BS.

You mean this "BS" that makes his game considerably harder?

It sounds to me like you just don't want to admit that the Argus might be a better weapon than you originally said it was.

Not harder by much to be fair, most of the enemies that still have their buffed attacks are still not much of a threat.

One thing I am curious of though, is the atlas armour / shields. I know the triple hit piranha is a beast, but does modding patch 02 for "OG" Glacier result in not only the atlas movement speed buff being removed, but also their armour / shields buff? I would assume not, as this was balance changed, not part of the actual patches.

I think the majority of posters here are missing the point; if you can aim just a little, the argus is great.

No one seems willing to go off and try this; they might just be surprised.

Ever since this game was released console players have cried for a brief immunity after getting revived. Had no idea such a thing existed on PC, and if it indeed exist on console then I have never experienced it

The thing I saw in Annomander's video would have been a sure instakill on Xbox, that is as much as I know.

Nice vid .. you put down that pint of beer long enough to do this, i'm impressed ... makes me want to try the Argus

On console, medgel will NOT provide synch kill immunity for any period of time, only an OPS pack will

Didn't you mod Atlases a few months back to make them stupider..?

Ops pack? Haven't watched the vid yet, so I don't know if that applies.

I've asked how to mod Atlas missiles so they are not BS seeking 180* turning nonsense they are now. I don't know how to do it nor I did it, but someone (FemShep I guess) at ME3Tweaks made an "AirQuotes" mod. Haven't played it either.

They will, it's not much, but it's enough to escape the quicker sync kills. Just like volus shield boost allows you to avoid being sync killed, the immunity mechanics are universal, and the same invincibility frames provided have the same benefit for a set duration.

Here's another example of i-frames while reviving from medigel.

Pretty sure the revive immunity exists on console, it's just that the turning speed is not fast enough to take advantage of it.

Hell, most of ME3's problems on console are due to that abysmal turn speed, which on its fastest setting is about the same as Call of Duty's lowest.

If that's true, then it would explain, why I got up after the 2nd stab (in a triple stab fest) in one of my Furry solos. Getting up after the 1st stab remains a mistery though, because I did not use an oops pack.

Element 0 is correct in this. We have a thread talking about the Argus then a modded Argus thread pops up showing how good it is. If the thread was to show good game play fine. If it was to show the Argus in anything less than the ****ty light it is in then mods squash that thought immediately. The Argus sucks. (And when I say that it is of course in comparison to most other weaspons. I don't hold with the argument that such and such a weapon is good in the and of the best players because they wreck with any weapon and any class.

I have never experience this "immunity" on the PC, myself. I have had that exact thing (phantom revive/banshee revive instakill) happen dozens of times. Not saying ti doesn't happen, but in 3000+games :crying:, I have never experienced it (or noticed it on a teamate either)...

Sorry, not to side-track.

I didn't mean to suggest there was anything sketchy about the video - I have no doubt that the PC players are correct about how the revives work there.

I wish console players had been given the same benefit,  it makes much more sense than the way it works for us - which is maddening, to be honest.

OT:

I actually like the Argus. Always did. Vindicator, too. I suspect that I'll love the Argus at high level on PS3 (where I can actually aim... :P) but even on Xbox, I found it to be a decent AR. I'm no fan of ARs in general, though. I'm more of a pistol/Sniper Rifle fan.

Well okay, however I do know firsthand that I have medgelled a couple times with a Phantom right over me (when you get one of those bad camera angles where you can't see anything) and been promptly sync'd ... I wish I had immunity from those at the time

Not sure how to explain that

Edit - that's something I never noticed before, those clips on PC, the players are resing faster after gel/revive and gaining quicker control of their characters .. am I imagining things?

It sure seems that way.

But all the changes to your game, although they may not change the behaviour of the gun, tinges with doubt it may not be the same with a stock game.

Yup, if I have played a few hours of CoD or Battlefield and then go back to ME3 I feel like I'm frozen solid. Turning speed and auto-aim is among the worst things with this game on console.

How does the instakill immunity on PC get affected by turning speed? I didn't quite catch that one.

Argus damage was balance changed; ergo I cannot modify it as it gets overwritten by server side download when you connect. Feel free to use an identical set up and compare the various damage values versus specific enemies. Again, you will see that the damage is consistent with the default argus.

You can measure the refire time by watching the video frame by frame. Feel free to download it, compare it to the refire time stat whilst remembering to take into account the universal 7.5% gold game speed increase. You'll see that it has the same refire time as the default version.

You can measure the RoF by counting the number of frames inbetween each shot, again, remember to take into account the 7.5% game speed boost and the 25% RoF buff from devastator mode. Again, you will see this is consistent with the default gun's stats.

Use the same set up and fire at a wall to test the spread; 100% stability and dev mode accuracy with thermal scope.
