I'm so sorry... that was very mean of me.

You can say the same about any other character that will conveniently involve themselves in the Inquisition plot line. I'm just saying, i'd like to at least see a cameo.Taleroth wrote...
Clearly, the appropriate development for Kirkwall's captain-of-the-guard is to abandon her new husband and city in favor of moving to precisely the 5 mile area that the Inquisitor will pass through at one point. And her character arc can be about finding a third husband!
I'm so sorry... that was very mean of me.

No I can't. I would imagine that half of them have reasons to be in Orlais. Like they live there. Aveline does not live in Orlais.Shaftell wrote...

And I would expect they'd have character arcs that the characters were designed for. Aveline already had hers.

Her father was an Orlesian Chevalier, there could be some sort of family connection.

But that's no reason to give her a cameo. She's had her time in the limelight.

You forgot the part where her second husband contracts the blight and has to be euthanized.

Not that I have anything against Aveline but if she gets a cameo with some lame excuse like visiting her grandmother in Orlais that would stretch credibility a little too far for me. Alistair in DA2 with his "Hi, I'm the king of Ferelden, ok, bye" seemed very over the top no matter how much I might like him as a companion in DAO.
If DAI turns into some strange collage of cameos I would really hate that. I prefer characters like Cassandra or Isabela and Merril from DAO to DA2 that were just NPCs and in the next game they become a more important character.

Orlais seems to be a very happening place with all the problems there. There can be a very good excuse for her to be in Orlais at this point.Taleroth wrote...

Mark of the Assassin introduced a potentially interesting plot for Aveline with the quest connecting the Du Lac family and the Black Vials. I would not be surprised in the least if we encountered Aveline in Orlais following up this "She of the Red" mentioned in the prisoner's note.
