I know a lot of people have had this issue.

I'm getting this message " Unable to connect to the online storage server" whenever I try to sync my pc characters with the BSN site.  No new characters or achievements are being loaded anymore.  I think it happened once I switched over to Steam.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

BSN is a gamer to gamer interaction forum, same as AHQ is. For technical assistance, EA Help Center is where you reach EA. Bioware has not attempted its own product support in many years.  They abdicated that to their games' distributors / publishers before agreeing to merge into EA.  The NWN games' official support was through Atari, the KotOR game was through LucasArts, etc  -- I can probably track down where the official tech support for Jade Empire was, but you have to go back to Baldur's Gate to the last time they had any staff for support.

P. S.  The Jade Empre (PC version) was supprted by 2K Games, the distributor, and EA.

That's... not true.

BioWare has been supporting its products all this time. They were balancing Mass Effect 3 until spring of this year. They don't have a technical support contact number, but that's not really the same thing.

And the other posters are correct, the issue is with the Dragon Age server.

I just went to the help site @Gorath Alpha suggested above (again) and could not find anything relevant. Maybe I'll contact them later, just to add to the other hundreds of inquiry's about the DA servers.

It is not Steam. I do not use Steam and am having the same issue. It is the Dragon Age Servers.

The actual Tech Support on EA Help is provided by "Game Advisers" and EA has chosen to make gaining access to the page where you choose between a telephone call and a Live Chat connection into a maze of separate steps before you reach that portal.

The last time there was any Bioware employee identified as Customer Support or Technical Support was all the way back to Baldurs Gate.

Spoke to tech support game advisors twice. One had no idea what I meant. The second told me that "the Dragon Age Servers are down right now, and that's why you can't access them". I asked for an ETA on when they'd be up, but just got an answer of "I understand how disappointing it is. Some of the customers have reported this issue. Our developers are aware of it and are working for a resolution. We appreciate your patience while the issue is being looked into."

Guess we just have to wait.

Found this on EA's site~
Dragon Age: Origins is currently experiencing server problems.

This means that you will either receive an error when logging in, or simply be unable to. During this time, DLC will not work or register properly.

Rest assured we're doing everything we can to get things back on track and will provide updates as soon as possible.

Thanks for your patience.

That is the same thing I was thinking. It stinks that it is this way.

According this old FAQ on Dragon Age personas / profiles:

1.2 Achievements

Achievements are stored on a separate server that sees much less traffic than the one storing character and screenshot data. This is the reason they appear practically immediately. Like everything else, achievements are uniquely attached to personas, but they cannot be deleted or otherwise removed once uploaded.

Presumably this means that the server for the achievements is working while the server for the characters is not.

Yeah same here..Hopefully data is saved to Rig and when Online Storage back Online then will be uploaded there automatically..

Hang on in there everyone and lets just hope that spirits get Bioware to work on this and fix it :)

Ah bummer can't put images to signatures..yet..hopefully later it's possible. This new forum look is awesome and naturally it has it's glitches, but sure they'll be fixed in time :)

Also check this thread.  http://forum.bioware...rs-not-working/

They've acknowledged the issue.
