EDIT: No matter what I did the game was still being weird so I had to delete this game and start over. It was the oddest thing. Hope it doesn't happen again! Tho please reas the below if you have had the issues below and could fix them without having to start over please let me know. FYI Played on a PS3 / Normal


I started another run through and am having the oddest stuff happening...

1. When I first went to do "A Long Way Home" the quest that you meet and pick up Merrill I talked to the Keeper and went straight to see Merrill. I did not stop or look at the merchant I went in a straight line to meet her. When I arrived there she was dead laying on the ground and there was nothing I could do. She was just laying there dead. Her first cut scene wasn't even there. WTF?????? I went back and The Keeper didn't say anything. I left Sundermount area on the map and came back and she was still there dead? Also I could not get into the cave because her cut scene is supposed to happen before you can go in. So eventually started over from a save and was able to get past that quest finally.

2. After we did the cut scene with Felemth we went further up the mountain and the first time she was hit by an corspe archer she died?!?!?! (we were at level 8 BTY). WTF?????

3. About five other times after that during other quests she would die after one or two hits!?!?! And as we can't do anything for companion armour I am so frustrated. She is dying after 2 or 3 hits from any ememy.

4. Every random treasure that is supposed to be some sort of armour (robes, boots, helms, gloves) are all 100% gloves. I have not got ANTHING but gloves and I am at leven 10 now, Just gloves!?!?!? WTF???

5. I just was at the Wounded Coast and on the north east part of the map at the very top. When I came back down to leave (in the south east) we were attacked by spiders, dogs and thugs non-stop for like 15 minutes. So much that I earned enough exp to from the very very beginning of level 9 to past 10. A whole level on that one wee stretch of path.  So of course Merrill died like three times during that one bit?!?!?!  WTH?????

I am going to delete the whole save and try again. Too weird. And yes I did try rebooting my PS3 and it stayed the same. I am also on "normal" difficulty incase you are wondering.

I've never been the discoverer of Merril's body - that is weird. She does die insanely easily, though. One of her sustained abilities blocks her ability to heal so check to see which ones are active before you try to heal her. Usually one of the first things I do when I level up is increase her constitution a bit.

Make sure you have the latest patches - I think I'm up to v. 1.05 but that's for PC.

If she is using blood magic you cannot heal her. You should use a maker's sigh and respec her attrubute points to just CON and MAG. She is more of a nuker from a distance not really a melee range character.

If she's at least level 14 - I think - you can put a point in Wrath of the Elven, which gives her 1% health regen/sec. per enemy ensared.  Takes care of her healing problem.
