 I've only just got the game from Origin download and as of yet I haven't got any of the DLC's for it.
The bug I have is I'm in the 3rd chapter and just completed Merril's companion quests in the demon cave.
I went to her home after and gave her the sylvanwood ring I got from the thief leader on the way to the cave.
Now I have a companion quest in my journal for her called Questioning Beliefs.
After over an hour of entering and re-entering her home trying to talk to her as the quest says I finally got on Dragon Age wiki and found this is a companion quest for Sebastion Vael. I don't have the DLC for his stuff so I'm wondering how I ended up with his companion quest as one for Merril that i can't complete.
Any help would be appreciated.
By the way, I'm loving the game. great work as always Bioware.

Uh...every companion gets a quest called Questioning Beliefs, most of them even get it twice (once in Act 2 and once in Act 3). Merrill only has one QB, but according to the Wiki, you HAVE to trigger it in Act 2. If you trigger it in Act 3, like you did, you won't be able to complete it. The Act 3 quest you should have gotten for Merrill after completing A New Path is called "Merrill, Friend or Foe?" However, it's only available at 100 per cent Friendship or Rivalry.

You should have gotten Questioning Beliefs back in Act 2. If it's only triggered now, then you hit a bug, or you just didn't have enough Friendship or Rivalry with her in Act 2 to get it.
