I really want to know what it is that makes people believe this weapon to be inferior to other weapons? Especially on the Geth Infiltrator.

The biggest argument I've heard about it was its inability to kill bosses fast, so I did two solos today, one on Gold and one on Platinum to see exactly how bad it was against bosses.

First was a Gold solo on Giant Geth. I had Disruptor IV, Cyclonic III, Shotgun Amp II and Armored Compartments. It ended up being a 23 minute gold solo on Giant which is one of the fastest times on console. With full equipment and with good objectives (I got bad objectives) it could easily be a sub 20 Gold solo on Giant which is not as easy as getting a fast time on Glacier. Then I decided to see how it would be against Cerberus on Platinum. I only wanted to do the first waves thus I didn't record the match and I used low level equipment like Cyclonic I, Shotgun Amp I, Disruptor IV and a Shotgun gear instead of Armored Compartments. It went so well that I actually continued the game and got a full extraction. Got trolled hard on objectives with hack on wave 3, devices on wave 6 and targets on wave 10. I had to use 3 rockets on objectives 3 and 6 and I had to use one rocket to get out of a cluster f*ck, so on wave 10 targets I only had 2 rockets left and still managed to kill every Atlas. I recorded the score after the game and at the same time showed my build and what equipment I used, it can be seen here: www.youtube.com/watch

That Platinum solo took me 38 minutes and with full equipment, good objectives and a decent use of rockets then 25 minutes would be quite easy to obtain.

In both solos my only weapon was the GPS. So I'm really confused as to how this weapon is viewed amongst BSN members as a good trooper weapon but nothing else. It can't score headshots and it can't penetrate cover, but the fast times you can get in a solo clearly states that it is one of the best weapons in this game. 

 So honestly guys, why don't you try to solo with this weapon a bit more if you want to get good times? I'm just an average player these days (I really am) because the last 10 months I've played this game about 100 hours which is about 10 hours per month or 2,5 hours per week which makes it a bit harder for me to do a solo these days. I was a lot better in the past when I was playing regularly and I know that some of you guys still play this game on a regular basis and have way more skill than I, so it would be very interesting to see what more skillful players can do with this weapon in a solo.

GPS is my favorite weapon and the strongest I've ever used (back on PS3, at least). Fully charged shots with warp ammo and combos with a sentinel class are just brutal. And the range is just crazy, you can one shot a lot of enemies from quite a distance.

Dude, wtf? did you read that? if there's gonna be one "OP" weapon in the game, it`s probably gonna be the "best" weapon yea? that makes logical sense right?

Occasionally yes, but not all the time. Still I don't see anyone advocate this weapon for a Gold or Platinum solo.

And Guardian's shield is no problem for the GPS with Warp Rounds, Disruptor or Incendiary.

Yet people clearly use the Piranha, Claymore, Wraith, or Reegar more often than the GPS.

A weapon one does not like that much. Because, you know, the guns I don't like are bad and anybody who likes them is a scrub that needs l2p. 

OT: when I'm soloing, I go for speed and, as I'm not as good with the GPS as I am with the Wraith, Claymore, Javelin or Talon, I don't use it that much. My first solo non-krogard solo was with the GPS Shaman though.

Depends on map, enemy, kit and weapon. Sub-25 for any combinaison though. But, that being said, I'm not the greatest soloist of all time.

It's an excellent gun, I have no idea why I don't use it more often. Time to rectify that .

I used it for my first solo, and unless you are an elite player, most of us are not doing sub-25 gold solos on the regular. My first solo took 45:11 to complete...Ghost/Reaper, and I can say my hand was a little sore from holding all the charging.

That being said...it is a great weapon powerful/accurate/occasional stagger and I do use it on quite a few kits.

Nobody went sub-25 on his first solo, especially against Reapers.

Its a really strong weapon, one of the best in the game on host. Accurate at long range, hard hitting, plenty of ammo. As for the guardian comment, I would prefer to be able to handle phantoms easily rather than Guardians easily. My first two platinum solos were with the GPS. Off host it becomes unreliable otherwise I would use it a lot more.

actually used to use it on a Justicar a lot, surprising synergy, and pull lets you kill guardians with it without a lot of finesse.
