So, sorry if this has been asked before (probably has, but the search function is flipping me the finger)...
The graphic novels and books are canon, correct? They follow the canon that bioware has (warden an elf, dead, Hawke a mage and so on), right? But will they be canon with the games, when the warden is alive?
(I totally wrote this in the non-spoiler section first, I am so sorry. I quickly edited it out, hopefully I didn't ruin anyone's day...)

No, your game universe takes precedence. If you made Anora queen, then she'll be the ruler of Ferelden in DA2 and Inquisition. If you killed Wynne, then she'll be dead in Inquisition.
If the stuff in the books and comics matches up to your universe, you can assume events transpired just as they were shown. If they didn't, you can assume that the events of the comics and books happened in a completely different way, though the end result is roughly same. (The villain of the comics was beaten by someone other than Alistair and company, for instance.)

What evildude said.
The games are entirely their own entity and they have always been built around player choice (bar the odd slip-up retcon which they always get absolutely flammed for). For you, the state of the world in DA:I will reflect the choices you import into it.
The books and comics are built on an arbitrary 'canon' because they have to be. But the book 'canon' will never interfere with the games.
Also, the games have to allow for new gamers who have not played the previous installments and have no 'canon'. In which case, a default world state (or, in the case of DA2, a selection of default states) will be chosen for them. But this is just so they don't have to play the previous games.
Neither the book 'canon' nor the default setting of the games should be seen as official 'canon' for the games, and nor will they be given preferential treatment over other game choices.
