I only use it on my DA. To rank 5 to increase damage by 30%. This way a quick pull reave combo will kill the pulled enemies. It makes soloing platinum much easier with the acolyte pull reave combo. And since shields aren't really beneficial on the drell since you mostly use shield gate or immobilise enemies before they hit you.

Even though I liked Pull before, there's absolutely no reason to use it post-Drell Assassin buff.

Eckswhyzed and I wrote a thread back when this game was actually still alive with suggestions for Pull buffs that would not require a game patch. Never happened.

Addendum, I usually put three points in Pull as a quick panic button for lieutenant type units. It can be a huge lifesaver because of the stagger--or the enemy will roll, which means it's not shooting at you. Great in a one on one against a Collector Captain, which is never a great situation.

And when I said when the game was still alive, I mean when it was still receiving BioWare support and a balance change to Pull was still a possibility.

Pull is a great power, but you don't have to max it out, unlike Lash. You only need it at rank 3 or 4 (range) to get the most out of it. It's essential in Platinum just to deal with Phantoms more easily on host, paired with the Acolyte. It has great homing capabilities as well, and you can throw it around corners and edges to deal with smaller troops that still can get you killed in 1 second on Platinum (Husks, Abominations, Cannibals, Geth Troopers.)

It doesn't deserve all the hate it gets, but it's not the best biotic power either. I prefer it to Lash simply because the cooldown is better and is faster to cast. It's invaluable on the Justicar IMO.

Well, it's not. I skip Pull on her and use only an Acolyte and I don't need another weapon (I don't like switching weapons..). Never had trouble on plat with her.

One shot to drain barriers, Pull to send her flying, run for your life. This has saved me on more than one occasion when soloing Platinum. Better than shooting a Phantom 3 or 4 times with just the Acolyte. All you need is 3 points in it for emergency situations at least. Or maybe you'll run straight into a Marauder or Geth Hunter spawn, and then you'll wish you could own them all in one shot + Pull combo.

Just saying.

1 Reave + 2 Acolyte shots will kill every shielded human sized unit. You don't need to run away, when enemies are dead and Phantom will usually stop hunting you once her barriers are down. Try it, it's pretty easy mode to be honest.
And I'm not saying how you should play, but that you don't really need Pull on her with an Acolyte. ;)

I prefer this.
Swiss army knife adept with plenty of damage and tanky-ness, able to handle anything.

If we're speaking plat I would probably throw a cyclonic on her to take laughable amounts of damage whle still being able to dish some out. Laugh at phantoms when you pull them and detonate with reave/sphere.

I somehow messed up the quoting, you guys know how to read this though.

I liked Pull on my Drellguard. On Xbox, I used it for the DoT, and it's able to kill most enemies once they're down to shields, so I'd use it and move on to my next kill.

I used in in my early days, on bronze and silver. Today I never take it anymore. If I want to make things fly I take a Human Adept or the Slasher.

There are reasons why pull is bad but also reasons why pull is good. A lot of the time mooks will spawn next to bosses. If you spec for area pull you can use it on the boss (who can't dodge it) and it will lift the mooks. You can get an alright explosion with the 75% evo on rank 6 and that explosion will affect the boss. It can also be used as a stagger power. My Justicar is 66653 because why not? Her dodge is awesome, no need for all that fitness.

Edit: If you have a teammate using shockwave with the detonation evo it makes for wonderful splosions, 140% increase in damage and radius.

This. You still can manage BE on gold this way. Staggering Brutes and Banshees.

You also can kill a hiding mook who you cant shoot.

I like it because I only need to put 3 points into it. Leaves more for other powers and pull is still useful that way.

If this was a Legion of Rannoch thread it would have been named Do you guys like to Pull
Remembers the fallen along the way

I still use Pull I find taking it to four allows me to launch groups skywards. It's still useful just could have been better.

I can't count the number of times I've defended, supported, suggested changes to, created alternative powers similar to lift, and obsessed over pull in this forum - a side effect of loving ME2 pull and ME1 lift.

I've played with r6 pull many times in the past, ignoring cluster grenades on both drell and the aja.

I really can't be bothered to continue to comment on it, save for one thing - I ALWAYS use r4 area pull on the DA and AJA. I strongly believe this to be optimal for both characters.

Hopefully in the next game we might see justice done to this power and all telekinetic biotic powers in general. Sadly damage > cc in me3mp, which dismissed the huge potential of biotics.

Let's see... Completely useless on the Drellguard, only very situationally useful on the Drelldept, kind of useful on the Asari.

Not great, I'd say.

Oh, I should add that pull is not made obsolete by lash for a few reasons:
- pull has a faster casting animation than lash, and the projectile cannot be cut short.
- pull has r4 area whereas lash is single target.

Because of weapon power creep and new ammo (ie phasic, acolyte...) shields can be a non-issue, so in that way I say pull is BETTER than lash. The only way lash is better is as a detonator.

I remember in the early days having to use a paladin/carnifex with disruptor ammo and having to go for headshots in order to strip shields without eating into the health bar (talon was not a good choice because pellets going through enemy shield gate) in order to use pull.

Now we have easy ability to remove shields.

Acolyte makes Pull useful - otherwise, meh.

I think I've got 3 points in it on the DrellGuard just for those odd moments when I feel like Pull > Charging things for the hell of it.

And I've maxxed it out on the Drell Adept as it's marginally more useful on Gold (where I normally play) than tier 6 on the passive and fitness > 3.

Maxxed it on the Justicar for Acolyte > Pull > Reave explosions; again sacrificing tier 6 on the passive and fitness > 3.
