The button for changing into the slayer has vanished and won't come back, even after several days of resting.
I do have the BG2fixpack and Ascension mods and I've tried the fix that appears on this forum but to no avail.
Any ideas what could be done?
Can the button be added through ShadowKeeper or the like?

Many thanks in advance.

If you have an earlier save game use Shadowkeeper to compare the effects on charname between the two files.

Comparing two of the files it seems that the memorisation flag has been lost for 'Slayer Change' but when I try to add it with ShadowKeeper it states that "CHARNAME has reached the maximum number of spells memorisable for this level" and neither removing other innate spells nor increasing the memorisation limit has any effect.

So you've got Slayer change but number of memorised is zero?

If so, it's probably wrapped round to -1 or 65535. Can you delete the entire flag and re-add it, or does clicking the minus bit do anything.

Ascension levels the Slayer up every few levels, I'm not sure if the variables change at that point.

Deleting and re-adding doesn't seem to change the memorisation problem.

Additionally further checking with the older file; I always lose the slayer change ability after using it once. I'm not sure if this suggests corruption at a basic level.

--Edit--

Additional checking with ShadowKeeper reveals that the following Global Variables are present in the 'no slayer' file:

SLAYER10                    0
SLAYERDEATH           1
SLAYERTIMER             5337585

The 'pre-slayer change' file does not have the first two variables present, although deleting them doesn't seem to have any effect.

There is a later version of Ascension (1.4.24) - http://weidu.org/asc.html.

However, I don't think that's your problem. What may well be is the ascensionfix component you've installed. That was put in as a short-term workround for a problem identified several years ago and I imagine that the ascension mod itself has included that fix for a long time. Trying to solve the same problem twice could well result in other errors occurring ...

OK.

I would have thought the order should be Ascension > Oversight > Fixpack > Tweaks. This based on what I could see from the excellent BWP documentation of mods (I had been using version 11 last but version 13 has changed the order around (e.g. 11 had Oversight before Ascension).

http://www.shsforums...ld-v13-english/

& I'm assuming ddrawfix is part of the GOG build (recent downloads not the original ones) so can't be removed or moved.

Grond0 -

That is the version I have installed, it comes up in the log as 1.41 though.

I've reinstalled to check and there is no change in log number or in fixing in the problem.

Gate70 -

Reinstalling in that order has fixed the problem for the uncorrupted save (slayer change no longer once only) but not the corrupted one (adding the missing slayer form).

Thanks.

A possible work around;
Your character has used up all the allocated spell slots… open shadowkeeper and remove one of the other spell memorisation from the f12 set i.e. lets say the minor 'heal' you got back in bg1… now will the game allow you to add 1 memorisation under slayer change?

This test is for any class that has been moded by your WeiDU and should fix the issue if you made a class from OVERSIGHT like Holy Liberator.
___
Older mods like OVERSIGHT are designed to be used in singular installs and aren’t tested against newer WeiDU mods for compatibility… a bit hard to test something that wasn't invented yet but that’s the bottom line.
___
To fix the problem on a permanent basis (assuming this is indeed the issue) you need to customise your CLAB file with notepad and they are class unique. For example my Avenger Druid needed a custom Clab (CLABDR04) so that she gets the new Beholder spells added at the right level otherwise the game will simply stop adding spells once her limit is reached.

Note as with all override files the best practice is to install all your WeiDU first and then drop the edited file into your override folder.

There is a configuration setting in shadowkeeper that allows you to increase the number of spells you can allocate. The default cap is 20.
