 For a lark, thought I'd try out some vanilla characters. However, only got as a far as th Turian Soldier, first on my list, and was BLOWN AWAY. Never knew he was this good, why didn't you lot tell me??

Talon, heavy barrel, extended mag and AP IV. Or make the most of those stability bonuses and take the Hurricane, heat sink, extended mag and AP IV or the saber with a similar set up. TBH, he makes pretty much every gun work - Piranha, raider, wraith and claymore are very good on him too. Spec fully into marksman and weapon buffs in the passives, everything else is down to your personal preference.

They are good, but they both run out of ammo too quickly for my liking. Try the Hurricane if you have it. That may fit with what you're looking for.

Lot of vanilla kits are good..... people just love the op kits  more,so the vanilla ones are played less some of my fav vanilla kits  are:

H.sol
T.sol
Kro.sol
H.eng.
Kro. Sen. ( the original one, with no hammer)

TS is amazing. Try out the eagle. Extended clip amd heavy barrel.

As for builds. Always max marksman. I usually go rate of fire over accuracy.
I have used multiple hybrids of CS and PM. They all feel pretty similar in terms of effectiveness. Max passives for weapon damage and stability.

He makes any gun shine so have fun with whatever you hve previously put aside.

This.  Hurricane with heat sink.  The Tsol can do well with just a ton of different guns but for me this gun and this class were made for each other.

(As others have said the blood pack punisher is also good but I think the hurricane is better.  I seem to be more accurate with it.)

Personally, I love using a sabre on him. The RoF increase from marksman makes that thing just ridiculous.
Definitely one of my favorite vanilla kits.

On a serious note, the Turian Soldier makes most of the good weapons incredible. Hurricane, BPP, Talon, Pirahna, Typhoon, Eagle are all excellent in his hands but my favourite is the Raider. It becomes accurate at mid to (almost) long range under marksman and of course still deals massive damage.
