I would like to know how it will work with the my ME1 disk copy; is it the same way as it would be if they where both disc pc copy's ?

If a problem accures and my computer dies; how will I retrieve the game and items ? I know I will lose all saved content but I am worried that I will not be able to get the extra content back or even the game back on.

If I ever change hard disk or want to transfer my game to another computer can I do it with out loosing any saved data or problems ?

I would like to know if problems accure and the game does not work at all will I recieve a new download of it ?

I hope I can get a good answer asap for I would like to purchase the game if I feel it is safe enough for me.

oh and  will it run as smooth as it would on the disc version with my computer ?

Download is exactly same as disk version ... other than delivery.

I took Steam DDE version, as I have ME1 on it as well.

EA store only gives you one year of download rights on your purchase.

With Steam you can download it as often as you want, even years after release.

Yes, be very careful of that limited window of re-download rights with the EA store. I avoid the EA store for that reason.

Steam, Impulse, and probably most other Direct Download services will let you re-download from them as much as you want; so your only worry with them would be whether that company somehow gets in financial trouble some day.

Mind you, the DLC will probably be going with much the same system, tied into this site and Bioware's servers, that Dragon Age did. Which, judging from the forum threads, has much the same imperfections as most other on-line DRM schemes; but as far as I know it is transferable between computers? I'd actually appreciate the details on that myself.
