Yes I just looked it up, the accent isn't genuine, but instead I saw that Zevran's accent wasn't authentic and Leliana's was, but gamers thought it was the other way round, which really shows that we can't tell easily.

Clearly the issue is not with authenticity itself.

Besides, DG thought that Isolde's accent was fine, and at the end of the day he has more say than you or me.

They also had by far the best Orlesian accents in the series.

The clear solution is to hire French actors to voice Orlesian characters.

I think the real issue with Orlesians so far isn't so much their accents as that they tend to be caricatures of Funny Foreigners or Snooty Nobles or both. Which leads to their accents being played up in a rather obnoxious way - we're rather supposed to find their voices annoying.

Leliana and Riordan are of course exceptions. Though what I've heard about Vivienne so far seems like she might have a fairly high degree of snootiness

In what way? I haven't heard much about the character, and I'm curious.
