Just looked at the IGN article and noticed that the day 1 DLC said there would be characters, plural.

"The first DLC pack is set for release at the game's launch on January
26, and will include new missions, in-game items, and characters."
We know about Zaeed, but have I just missed something about more than one character DLC on launch day? Or is this possibly a typo?

'characters' is not synonymous with 'teammate'. its just an advertising term to state that it features new people and interactions, it doesnt tell anything about their roles.
