It would be better to skip Shadow Strike on the N7 Shadow!

Because the GI is machine and wires.

And it lacks a sword with electric powers.

If you are playing for the sword why would you skip one of it's key uses for superior weapon use?
Why does it matter how much better weapons builds are if you are using the character for the sword?

The arguement that weapons > than swords is irrelevant if you want to play for the sword
Everything up to this point doesn't matter anymore because your reason has changed

The argument was that SS isn't useless, and it wasn't really about being better than weapons,
This changes the entire point of argument

Slippery slope fallacy.

Shadow strike often ends up with you being staggered to death off-host.

Tac cloak, CC power, shoot is better there.

My own emperical evidence says otherwise.

Then you do not know the blight of shoddy PUG connections.

Your experience varies compared to others, you know?

Ending up staggered from SS is a BSN myth. If you execute the SS right it's almost never a problem.

It's a bug. It's been proven and fixed by Caratinoid. (with the help of other awesome people in bugs group)

Oh? I don't seem to have experienced that, or perhaps there's something I'm missing - in my experience if you cloak/break target you pretty much never get hit.

Haven't we discussed that already? If there is a bug, it seems not to happen to me regularly (if at all).

Solo Gold Vs Cerberus. Get into hard cover, cloak without any enemy in LOS. Shadow Strike a Phantom also in cover. You watch the animation of you traveling in SS, but in reality you are already standing near the Phantom for the whole second. That triggers her response and instant melee. You get hit before you land your SS or you hit each other at the same time. If you have drain - you can survive that.

Doesn't happen all the time. But OFTEN. Often enough to majorly ****** you off.

The enemy knows where you are at all times when soloing, so it makes sense that they would do that
The same happens when you are last man standing, and it makes sense for the enemy to track your every move when they are hunting you

Hmm, I always have a habit of moving first after cloak - I realise you're already at your target for a fairly long time, but never had a problem.

Perhaps without moving the phantom is already aware of where you're coming from? I don't know all the technical details, all I know is I almost never have that happen.

No, it doesn't make ANY sense. Because there will be times when you have to clutch waves and solo. It's BS.

Caratinoid has also fixed the Shadow striking enemies from the front (such as Guardians)

He has also fixed the no SS on Atlas bug.

This is what I thought. If you cloak and don't move, the enemy's already aware of your last position and where you're coming from in SS so they track you.

If moving after cloak, just a second then initiating SS works.

As I said I don't know if that's how the AI functions, that's how it comes across as a player.

Don't need Drain to survive it. Speaking from experience from my recent solo with the Shadow against Cerberus. It did happen a few times but I survived each time even without Shield Drain. Would just flip backwards then run away behind cover to get my shields back.

I soloed Gold with a SS Shadow and I can tell you I made them have no clue where I really was. It's all about cloaking.

No. The same happens with Biotic Charge. Go ahead. Leave a Guardian alive and Charge him to make his shield flip. Sometimes it'll work. Sometimes he will instantly shield bash you. Why? Because you watch the BC animation, but in reality you are already there standing next to him. And that gives him enough time to own your ass.

Spectate a Charging Vanguard or SS'ing Shadow to see the instant trasitions. The camera literally cuts all the time.

You were lucky you were 1vs1. But even then. You probably survived with 1 health bar left. Which means, next time you get hit, you will die super quickly.

I have soloed Gold like 20 times with the Shadow with both SS and Sniper builds. And lemme tell you - sniper is both faster and much safer. And that's with a Valiant. With BW it would be even faster.

How long did it take you?

Let's not talk about that. I saw you playing the Fury while I ran the Shadow. The Shadow solos are just for a fun ninja game.

Yes with BC I agree it happens. I do not see the same thing as often with SS, despite it having the same "teleport" shortcomings.

Hmm, fairly, depending on team/map/faction and depends if I'm "competing" for score with another player - I'll SS straight to the back of a spawn and go to work.

Like I said I don't play solo - when I do it's with zero consumables as I don't like to waste them, so when I do it's usually just messing around up to wave 6 objective.
