It would be better to skip Shadow Strike on the N7 Shadow!

I soloed Gold with a SS Shadow and I can tell you I made them have no clue where I really was. It's all about cloaking.
Wait, so now you're saying I have to spec into cloak too?? Gawd, I'm so sick of you high-horse BSNers and your minmax builds.

??
I've no idea why I would play either. Shadow would be a very boring class without SS.

Now, I'm going to get hate for this, but melee combat is kind of nerfing oneself when one could use a far better weapon like the venom![]()

Nah, just kidding. It is just the build I use. Full melee & getting the most damage out of SS.

It's a lot more fun to play a melee Shadow than a weapons Shadow. If I want to use the Raider, I have the GI or Batbrawler for that. Dat sword is just to awesome to not use.iOnlySignIn wrote...

Like I said, I use a 46565 build with a little bit of everything - SS, ES, but mostly shotgun.
http://kalence.drupa...35!!..J5!50BE7G
But if I want to go more melee with her I can switch to an omniblade just as well. It's hardly any less effective.
I find speccing her this way to be more versatile - I don't have to respec or use too many equipments if I wish to bring her to Platinum.
Most importantly I don't think the +20% Movement Speed is even up for debate. If it works wonders on the Drells, Geth, and AIU it will work just as well on the Shadow. And it does.

Yeah right. Because most enemies in this game spawn beyond Raider range at unpredictable locations and actively try to run away from you.Tokenusername wrote...

Why not both?
Also, this debate depends on the enemies. It's much easier to kill Phantoms with SS than with the Raider. On the other hand, you can;t SS the Atlas and you can hit the Atlas from a fair distance even with the Raider.

To each their own. I like my Shadow as a full melee build, running around slicing heads off. It's a nice change of pace from all the other infiltrators which are mostly weapons platforms.iOnlySignIn wrote...

^Yes it is a fair point on platinum, where you're better off with ES, weapons and tech bursts. SS build is much harder and will resort to a lot of shooting; not bad, but not optimal for the boss spam.
But every optimum character build on platinum boils down to one thing - as much dps on as many targets as possible, so many fun (mostly melee) builds that are viable on gold get tossed aside on platinum.
I'd argue SS is just as useful if not more so than ES on Platinum. The notion that Platinum has too many bosses for SS to be an effective power is false. For every two bosses that generally appear in each Platinum wave, there are 6 other units that SS can potentially bring down with one hit invidividually.
