What do you think they'll do this time?
Is it going to be another Fantasy game like the majority of BW games? A Science Fiction title like Mass Effect?
Something they haven't done yet? Like dark mirror of our world a là Vampire the Masquerade and The Secret World?
A spy game like Alpha Protocol? :D

They were advertising for a AAA lead writer a few months back, so you assume they're putting together a writing team.
I still think it's star wars related, maybe a stand alone SW rpg.

Didn't they say it was going to be an entirely new IP?
I think the SW game is going to be a different project.

BioWare is presently working on a new IP and a new Mass Effect project for next generation consoles. As of yesterday, the studio is also putting together a Star Wars game of some sort. Hey, there's no way they can write an ending worse than that of Return of the Jedi, right?

That quote's from this article, which also has a link to the announcement of the SW game.

Perhaps an RPG set in the present or an alternate universe type deal?

so they will have DAI, ME4, mystery IP, and new SW...I really hope they dont spread themselves too thin.

As for the new game(s). Maybe they picked up Star Wars 1313 or whatver it was going to be called. The new IP I really really really hope is NOT zombie related...

I'd love a frontier/old West RPG. A Bioware version of Red Dead Redemption.

Only if the ending can be made through decisions. I don't know if I can go through them feels again. It wasn't sad... just painful.

I kind of feel the same way. Bioware went from two games at once to four at once--and all four of those games are big re-inventions, not simple sequels (EA's bizarre statement about DA I being like a "new IP" actually elucidates that point). I'm worried that they're doing too much.

However, by the same token, DA I looks absolutely incredible. So...we'll see.

For Star Wars--not sure about that. 1313 was essentially going to be an action shooter in the Star Wars universe--that doesn't seem like Bioware's style.

And i wholly, wholly agree about zombies. They need to just die, no pun intended.

Personally i would prefer a present day RPG, maybe even the spy/espionage game they wanted to make.

@EntropicAngel

I agree that DAI looks amazing but still I'm worried 4 is going to be rough to handle. They didnt do too great with 3 games (DA2, ME3, SWTOR). But time will tell.

I never heard any details about 1313 besides the name but I suppose the could take the basic 1313 details and create a BioRPG from there.

Oh yeah usually when people say "no pun intended" they are lying :P

If the new IP is zombie related, it will become one of the few Bioware games I will not purchase. There are genres I dislike - post apocalyptic settings chief among them - but zombie games have so little interest for me that it's not even a difficult choice in not buying.

I'd be all for. There are far too few good games like that out there.

And if it's historical, I guess it would let BioWare contrast Mass Effect and Dragon Age in the sense that the choices you make would have to be more meaningful on a smaller scale, to the protagonist and other characters etc. rather than huge earth-shattering ones that they try and carry through to sequels.

It'd be a nice change of pace, I think. We have an IP with dragons and wizards and an IP with giant robots and space magic, having one a little more grounded in reality would be nice.

Or, they could go Old West in a new Fantasy realm and do whatever they want. Or go twisted history. But I think historical would be more interesting, frankly.

Pretty much. I'll never play a Fallout game for this reason, and I never buy horror games either.

I agree that a historical old west would be the most interesting. I've never been huge on twisted history stuff so I hope they wouldnt got that route.

Another idea I have would be a pirate themed game.

An extremely dark, gritty game set in a twisted version of black death-ridden late middle/early Renaissance Europe, where the player is stricken with lycanthropy, and the path that disease takes you all depends on how you develop your character. All told in a very folklore-esque way.

...that idea came from somewhere deep in the inner workings of my mind. dont ask.

It's probably one of the perks of being part of the huge EA machine, they have more resources than they've ever had in the past.
I wouldn't rule out the new Star Wars game being 1313, even if it was originally meant to be an action shooter there is nothing to stop Bioware from adopting the concept/story and turning it into a game of their liking.
I'm not even sure how much of the game was actually made when it came to a halt.

How about a Bioware version of the Firefly universe?
Obviously not Firefly itself, since those vultures from Fox would try to bankrupt Bioware, but a similar universe.
