Could be wrong, but it seems like you're simply projecting yourself into each character.

and that is wrong why exactly?

(IMHO it is not, because that's how i play, i insert myself into the game (personality wise - as i don't tend to play humans in RPGs...exception being Dragon Age, because i hate being either a "primitive" scoundrel from the woods (sorry, dalish lovers, but the dalish should either give up or try to rebuild not just passively hide in the forests) or a second class citizen in human lands to be looked down upon by everybody (note: i don't even consider playing a dwarf, because i almost always play a mage)...:(

as for how i do choices in the game - well, i decide like real me would (say: if there is slavery, i will kill the slaver, as i hate nothing more then slavery (with the exception of say enslaving murderers, rapists etc. or having them do forced labour!)) and that's that (i only know some choices from DA:O from watching youtube-vids, because i just can't make them in the game (like leaving Lothering to die)...the exception being choices that one really can argue about, because they are grey (Anvil of the Void, Avernus...) - others like say killing Connor or sacrificing Isolde in DA:O i just can't do (and i hate that woman...for what she did to Alistair, for what she does to Teagan and for her horrible accent (and her not being able to controll a Teenager!))

greetings LAX
ps: so my character will be ME - at least a mage-version of me in Thedas and he will probably be a goody-two-shoes (with a vicious-streak a mile long, if he is betrayed) :)

I will almost certainly play a mage. Most likely a human unless the updated elf look looks really good. Elemental magic and shapeshifting(if it is back and good), for a druid like feel. He will be against the Chantry and Qunari, so pro-mage, but will not hesitate to kill necromancers, demonologists and other mages abusing their gifts(mind control for example).

If crossbows return. I might make a female rogue based off Vayne from League of Legends. Purge the world of magic, hunt the big bads and what not.

A Qunari who thinks he is actually a dwarf.

A young male elf rogue (not decided on a name). Has an unrealistic capacity for mercy, hope, and remorse. Pro with duel weapons. Doesn't descriminate, thinks everyone should be equal, even mages. Gives everyone the benefit of the doubt. But the role of inquisitor will harden him. He will trust less. Fight more. Deny that the world is a happy place. And then vow to do everything he can to make it better. Even if it kills him.

My first character in any Bioware rpg is always based on me and I try to act accordingly. I usually end up being good (JE and DAO non-withstanding). I'll also follow my Dragon Age tradition of being a human male mage who's down for mage freedom by any means necessary.

I look forward to playing this game mulitple times with mulitple races... but as mentioned above and by other folks - they are usually just variants of myself.

Although Joan of Arc would be amazing!

Seeing as trevelyan is a surname, I will model my guy to look like 006 and act like Ned stark in honor of Sean bean. And he will die. Because he's a character that's based off of Sean bean characters

Dirk HardPec, and he will be the vanilla guy we are seeing in the trailers, essentially a big, brave brick of meat with the personality of that one guy in Spartacus with the giant hammer and who always referred to himself in the third person.

To be honest, I'm not going to make that decision until I play through the prologue. I can't really get a good 'feel' of a character until I know a bit of their story.

As it stands, my intention is a qunari warrior largely inspired by Tywin Lannister from A Song of Ice And Fire. Utterly ruthless when he has to be, willing to use any tool at his disposal.

And though he'll have abandoned the Qun, he'll still hold to pieces of it; most especially, the belief in wasting nothing.

My intention is a female Qunari warrior with a surprising capacity for mercy and generosity, but utterly stoic.

If I can be I want my Qunari female worrier story to be that of a stranger in a strange land. She has a million question about everything to the point people who are close to her let their guard down around her and feel she's a bit naive. But at the same time she can be very direct, calculative, and brutal. She also have a strong belief of the "Waste nothing" ideology the qunari have with out the absolute nature their people have. She also would be a surprising chemist.

Her character would be developed around a simple quote" Bas are strange."

Well, I'm definitely starting out at a Qun.

As far as class, I'm leaning either towards a Lawful Neutral Paladin-y character, or a Chaotic Evil-y Blood Mage.

Exactly like all my other RPG characters. Revan, but slightly less altruistic.

I haven't given it much thought. Probably a human rogue with a bow and leather fetish. :P Unless crossbows return as a player option.
