Yeah that's the other thing I don't like if you choose to get him to commit suicide. You get the most out of that character if you get his final line about earth.

Like I said, I'm torn.

Intimidate has him making no apologies, which I admire, or I can have him redeem himself and help Shepard one last time...

I am not the self loathing type.

I see the benefits to acceptance.

Plus, you know, you're taking a smart path. Instead of fighting "the machine".

Nobody is saying anything about fighting any 'machine.' It's just simple honestly. If you hate it, you have to hate yourself. Because you're as much a part of it as anyone.

I think that is an association fallacy.

That's like saying you hate yourself if you work at a job you don't like to make ends meet, or if you take a class you don't like to graduate from school.

Not at all. Not enjoying something because it's difficult or tedious is completely different from disliking it because it's ethically distasteful.

Well I never said I found it unethical. I said I believed they cared more about my enrollment fee than my success as a person.

You know, a business caring about your potential to make them money and carry on their image, rather than caring about your individuality.

Real world, son.

Uh, no. I didn't.

If you hate McDonalds because your job as a fry cook sucks and you hate doing it, no, of course you don't have to hate yourself.

If you hate McDonalds because you think it's business practices are repulsive but you've taken a position on the board of directors and push those practices along, yes, if you were honest, you should hate yourself as well.

The implication being that I should be vocally opposed to acceptance because I do not believe in their principles?

No thanks, I'll take the nice addition to my resume.

You don't have to be vocally opposed. But if you don't believe in them, you should certainly decline.

To not perpetuate an organization that is ultimately harmful?

Right. Because turning down help from a society that will certainly help you get a job in a horrid job market is an incredibly smart thing to do.

Good god why?  They build my resume, I do a bit of community service in return.
