So I was just playing Skyrim riding around on a dragon and I couldn't
help but think about DA:I. With all the new features that Bioware is
adding to the game, it got me to thinking about how the dragons in
Inquisition could be interacted with.

I created a poll asking people what that would like to do if they had the chance

Lets talk Dragons Poll

Let me know what you're option is below :D

I've heard that dragon riding is Skyrim is a buggy and completely unfun mess.

If so, a perfect example of why giving fans what they ask for is more often than not a really bad idea.

I would like to avoid the dragons. Or give them gold, goats and virgins and in exchange they go off and pester my neighbours and leave me alone.

Or find a baby dragon, nurse him to health and then scream in horror as he burns down my keep, steals my gold and eats my love interest.

It's on rails, and extremely limited:crying:

I think if I had to choose between mounting one and just using a attack summon, I would go with the summon. The riding in Skyrim isn't the best, but that game has so many bug that you just start to add on to the never ending pile of issues and go on about your day.

I've played the Skyrim DLC that allows it, and it's not so much that it's "buggy" as the player can't control where they go. Basically, you get on them, and you can order it to attack certain targets or land you in a certain area. And if you're not satisfied with that, several mods have been made that give the player much more freedom with dragons. Sounds like it worked out after all. See how much more informed you opinion sounds when you've actually played the games you're referring to?

Except for you, of course.

I would love to be able to transform into a dragon through, I could see a mage learning a spell to change into one and then just destroy everything.

I just play Divinity Dragon Commander to do that.
I doubt laying waste to things on such a massive scale will happen in a Bioware RPG.

Working dragon riding mods have existed long before Dragonborn. So pretending as if they were an unattainable goal before it is very silly.

Riding dragon is a possibility, but I don't see it as a very likely one. I've seen an alternative mount thread before, but I'm not sure if they're going in that direction. Conversational Options is far more likely - it's certainly been done in previous BioWare games before.

Transforming into a dragon, well...

Never said they were, but it showed fans did have a clear idea of what they wanted. If anyone was at fault in that area it was Bethesda for not making it free-roaming enough. What point are you trying to make? You claimed that giving fans what they want isn't a good idea and cited this as an example, yet here you admit that it wasn't unattainable. So what's the problem if fans made a clearly attainable demand?

Hell with riding one. Bring back shapeshifter and make high dragon the final talent. Counteract its brokenness by making it an activated talent, you're only able to sustain it for 30 seconds and it has a 2 minute cooldown... And you can't use it in buildings or caves or any other interior, because it won't fit. Oh, and make the smaller dragons (not dragonlings) into a regular form you can take for as long as you want (no time limit and no restriction about being indoors) as a sustained mode and make it the second to final talent in the tree.

EDIT: 2 minute cooldown is too overpowered too, make it 3 minutes.

I'm happy with just killing them, thanks. The riding can be limited to those "dragon rodeo" takedowns.

I'm not overly facinated with Dragonriding, Dragonkeeping etc. but I'd love some improvements on High Dragon Combat so we aren't just attacking its heels and tail all the time.

Make us able to topple the damn thing and get some blows to its head and belly.

can anyone tell me if I can fix the misspellings in the poll chooses. It's really bugging me. I can edit the poll description and title, but no the actual answers.

I would really just prefer it if Dragons remained hard to kill bosses.

Your poll lacks a "just give me NG+ and I will forget about dragons" option

Dragon mounts and pets sound a bit far-fetched. Now, wyverns on the other hand...

I'm on the PS3, I can tell you that it isn't really that buggy even then. it is however gimmicky and awful though and could have been left on the drawing table.

Not buggy, just not well executed. It is very limited but it is fun.

I just want to kill them and get high level gear or crafting items. Also want to see the different types of dragons and how it will affect gameplay when you fight them.
