As a Literary Critic (read: y'know) I want to actually say that it is *very* hard contacting writers to ever get commentary, interviews or even opinion out of them on their own work...
As part of this industry, and a writer, you are part of a group that actually gives its own audience contact with the writer as a living being... including insights into some of the choices (political, moral and otherwise) that you have made in the construction of your work...
So, thank you, again - the internet is not the easiest forum with which to interact with your fanbase, oddly.
It would be nice if more people actually interacted with me as a living being, as opposed to The Writer or (more commonly) BIOWARE MAN... as if I were some personification of everthing Bioware does and personally responsible for its decisions.
Part of being a public face on the forums, I guess.
But you're quite welcome. I enjoy coming here... usually.
Well, I think it is true that most peope just see
and pee themselves with excitement in a rush to either praise or belittle you. Sometimes i read the stuff people sa here and want to punch them in the face (90% of the time is still 'sometimes', right?) so I really have to give you kudos coming here with that giant blue target symbol above your name and putting up with all that it brings you.I think a lot of people are defined by their jobs in real life, you know, Joe the Mechanic and Steve the Stockbroker, but online most of us can escape those titles. For you, being on a forum like this pretty much guarantees that most people are ONLY going to see the titles.

And it is also awesome that Kirby's riding the TOR writing wave. I hope she'll be writing a few companion characters.

Is this a wheel of time reference I see.....!!
Actually no it was a poster on the BG boards who was obsessed with Coran and hated Jaheira but was otherwise a beloved poster. She was a woman from Germany IIRC. Her handle was Lanfear.
I just about died when I found her in BG2. I thought people who didn't hang out on the Message Boards might find it a bit bizarre though.

Not only that, but he'll have the gall to die before concluding the series you're now so invested in.

oh wow..I think I have a new life goal now...to become such a beloved poster as to become an npc in a bioware game...
Many of us have such a dream.
But then, we would have to be one of the more beloved, instead of despised, long-time posters on the Bioware boards to earn it.
Unless one could maybe earn a spot as an NPC toady...something like Jon Bon Jovi's character at the beginning of Young Guns II where he fulfilled his lifelong ambition of being killed in a Western shoot-out.
I could stand being a toady who gets eviscerated at the beginning of the game, as long as I get one good snark line in first. :innocent:

It's not going to happen anymore, I'm afraid. It was sort of a backhanded compliment to begin with, and the source of much ugliness on the forums when it happened... so no go. Not from me, anyhow.lqutois wrote...

Frankly I believe that respect and politeness--even if you're not politically correct--tend to go a lot farther than pretending to be strong by covering one's insecurities over with a nasty temperament. It also ticks off the disrespectful folk faster if you're perfectly calm and polite.

Yes. Which is why, right now, I am a bowl of cereal. Incidentally, that's preventing me from dancing.

To be fair, the main interaction people on these forum have with other "living beings" either results in them calling them ballsacks or playing games with them. And you guys haven't made a multiplayer game since NWN and I have a feeling you'd not be all that up to be playing with me and my other friends on Saturday in our annual DM'ing events (which are kinda postponed atm anyway).
And posting something like your MSN, Skype or Steam address in a public forum *is* kinda like asking for stalkers of the non-plus kind.
