Collector Sniper Rifle

I absolutely love that gun, it's really underrated and hardly anybody uses it - but, if handled well, it is an absolute beast. It's especially good on the Salarian Infiltrator due to Energy Drain and Proximity Mine working well with it.

Came here to say exactly that.

I was doing sniper rifle challenges last night for my banner and decided to strap it onto my FQI and give it a whirl.  I had an absolute blast with it and ended up jumping into some gold pugs with it (generally I test out unfamiliar weapons on silver just to be safe).  Put some incindiary III and a rail amp II on it and was absolutely tearing things up on gold, ended up scoring top that match.

I still love the Black Widow and Javelin, but I've now added the CSR to my list of awesome sniper rifles.

I never really was all that good with the CSR, always found it a niché weapon I couldn't get my head round. Wasn't bad as a long range replacement for the CSMG on most of the engineer classes but still something I would always take the CSMS over.

Spitfire. However that's not due to my skill. The Spitfire is actually a good weapon but hardly anyone will agree with that, I imagine.

The movement speed penalty and semi-exclusivity to weapon classes is a turn-off to many people it seems. I only dislike the trigger-sway when ADS. Personally I find it fine on the Ghost and GT, just have to cancel out the speed penalty with AM 3 or with max speed in hunter mode.

Agreed. I disliked it at first but persevered because, you know, it's a goddamn geth minigun.
I guess a lot of players get put off by the speed penalty or don't realise how important piercing is to the weapon during their first couple of games with it and just put it back on the shelf.

I use the spitfire more than the typhoon, I greatly prefer it even though blah, blah, typhoon is better, blah, don't care!
Batarian, Krogan, Geth, Asari, turian, hell I even use the spitfire on volus, but my typhoon is more or less destroyer exclusive

I'm better with the javelin than any other sniper rifle, and I'm not sure why.

The continuous beam thing takes a bit of adjusting too, for sure, but once you get the hang of it it will tear stuff apart at a scary rate.  I could take down a ravager in one cloak>shoot cycle, and a brute in two or so (depending on how much I could get his head).  Mooks and even elite mooks didn't last more than a split second.

As a bonus, it turns enemies into gold plasma goop stuff when they die which is pretty cool.  The only real drawback is that it does have a limited range (unlike most SRs it won't hit things on the far side of the map) and it seems to have a bit less cover penetration than most (of course that could just be me being used to the javelin and BW, both of which have above average cover penetration).

I decided to use it for the challenge just out of curiosity and I'm glad I did.  As a sidenote, the Indra is another one that I was playing around with that I expected to be terrible but was actually really good.

Tried out the spitfire earlier today on my flamerless geth trooper, I didn't like it much on him but I'm going to try it on the destroyer next, I think that will probably be a better kit for that gun.  The trooper is a bit too squishy for the prolonged, sustained fire that the spitfire requires.  The typhoon continues to elude me, but owell.

Give the Indra a try on the Paladin sentinel, take a stability module 3 and an incendiary/cryo 3. It synergizers very well as you then have a weapon and skillset to deal with every range.

Wraith is my favourite - nice rhythm, fits in well around powers, works with every character, lightweight, good damage, two shots, nice delayed reload, decent accuracy at close/medium range without SC, EDIT: can have 50% melee mod!! and most of all - GOLD! =]

Oh I agree. I also use it on the SI and it's just mindblowing how quickly he demolishes everything. Amazing combo, I'd say on par with the GI.

Between the Crusader and the Saber. I love em both, some bsners will say neither weapon is good. I can show them otherwise.

I love the black widow.

There once was a phase I went through when all I used was the Black Widow GI. And not to be arrogant about it, but I was a gun at using the black widow and could quickscope a hunter's head from the other side of Rio. Unfortunately after I stopped playing for a long time that skill went away. I tried doing a couple of BW GI gold solos but I always get bored and end up leaving halfway through. Tis a shame really

Since I was given the weapon in a Commendation Pack the N7 Valient has been my go to gun on a wide range of kits. Yes I know most of the other rifles in this class hit harder or fire faster but the Valient is a all around solid weapon. I rock with this gun. So I ask you BSN players. What guns do you use that shine because of your personal skill with them?

Precisely the same here. I enjoy combat most at close to medium range and don´t really enjoy scope sniping, though I am pretty decent with ARs, Pistols or Wraith/Crusader even at longer range. Something about the firing/casting rhythm with the Valiant just clicks for me.

I'm extremely fond of that gun on-host. Offhost, it's a little spotty, but still awesome.

I'd say the biggest drawback of the gun is that it requires you to spend a lot of time looking through the scope - which is why I'd choose Javelin or even the good old Widow over it any day.

That would be the raptor - my ideal firearm is an assault rifle with a far-seeing scope. Vicious and Accurate.

Tough call... I am inclined to say the Javelin, but really I only use it on 3 or 4 different kits, same with the Argus, I normally only use it on Turians.

So between those two I think they are my niche guns. Argus is an awesome assault rifle that as long as you feather it, it is an accurate gun with a sizable clip.
