It's good for all kits in my opinion, a reletively light weapon with a decent punch, any engineer is a good choice, the justicar is fun with it,etc...

With so many weapon options to choose from, I hate that people only use just a few of them. It's only the harrier, it's only the talon...only reegar/wraith/claymore. Only hurricane and csmg. It doesn't matter if you think the weapon sucks (any weapon), you can find a great set up with an unpopular weapon anytime.

The lancer is one of those weapons that is pretty good on any character. Not the best, by why always stick a harrier on a certain character? It just gets old, fast.

Again all my opinion.

The lancer always works, there are no kits that it doesn't work on, but there are weapons that are better on some setups,

It's a weapon I would use on a kit I'm unfamiliar with, because it will work regardless of how bad I spec the kit

Maybe my opinion will change when I get it to X, but at the moment I only use it for nostalgia.

Actually, I prefer Phaeston on Turian soldier than Lancer.

I personally prefer the Valkyrie and Hurricane on the Turian Soldier. Far more satisfying.

I use it mostly on my FQE. Fairly lightweight weapon for an AR, packs a decent punch. Infinite ammo is nice, and it's great for applying disruptor ammo for dat tech burst.

Its not very smart to use the lancer on him.  the way marksmen works and all.  its better to use it on the Sentinel, where more power usage helps with the cool-down on the lancer lol.

but I do agree with you, the FQE is great with it.

For me, it's the best assault rifle. I don't like using the particle rifle on anything besides the destoryer or juggernaut. The harrier is kind of annoying because of the whole ammo issue. Have fun using the harrier on dagger hazard/condor/vancouver/glacier. I prefer the lancer over nearly every other gun in the game because you don't have to worry about ammo or a very long ramp up. Spray your gun all over and never worry about having to run for ammo or to maintain firing your gun. Damage kind of sucks, but then again most of the guns in this game are overrated and weak unless used with specific characters/ammo types/powers. Use the lancer with the correct ammo types, mods, weapons amps and character spec and you're good to go. I don't understand why so many people dislike it, it is easily one of the best weapons. If ammo isn't an issue, then the harrier become the best weapon in the game and every else becomes trash. But ammo is an absolutely huge issue in this game. Therefore, the lancer is easily one of the best weapons. Certainly not overrated.

So, to summarise:

Range: great
Damage: reasonable
Rate of fire: great
Accuracy: reasonable
Stability: poor
Ammo: excellent
Weight: excellent

Not bad at all, but definitely slightly overrated IMO. It´s a neat gun.

I use it sometimes on the AJA and geth engineer
but I think the PPR and saber respectively are better choices for those two classes
I would use it on the Drell Adept if the FoV didn't get all screwy with it
