Though this seems like it'd be better placed in the Toolset forum, I can't for the life of me figure out why I can't post there. So it's here. Hope that doesn't breach the rules somehow (I checked, couldn't seem to find a reason it would, so yeah).
Anyways, on to the topic. I've been using the guide here (links to thread in the Toolset forum) to make savegame edits on my 360 game. So far so good, and I've continued experimenting here and there. I've made multiple inventory, skill, and stat related edits with no problem, including adding in hostility decrease rates onto different characters with varying values (not sure how well it worked but it seemed to do the job I wanted it to). I have tried altering my class flag once and that resulted in a corrupted file (though there are many reasons that could have happened and there were other things I did to the savegame the same time that could have resulted in it, I haven't gone into major experimentation with that yet, next I believe I'll attempt it from warrior to rogue with skills that both share, and I will make a few other experiments with that to see how well it plays out).
I had an interesting thought though. Instead of altering my class like I tried with once I was wondering about altering my background flag. Of course I would do this either during or after Ostagar (for obvious reasons), but I'm not sure how it'll play out. One thing I would think might happen is I'm not sure if the background flag will directly correlate to the appearance or not, and I'm slightly worried that even if the background is successfully changed it might alter my Warden's appearance. Still, I always have backups.
Anyone have any interesting savegame edit ideas? I'm editing savegames using only vanilla content since I'm doing this on a vanilla xbox360 (no mods, no alterations, just DA:O with the standard DLC packs available to anyone (essentially DA:UE before UE was released lol)).
NOTE: In regards to items in this savegame editing. This is mainly for people who haven't used the pyGFF Editor yet. While I can transfer items from other areas into my player's inventory, I cannot do so unless I was in the area already. I'm not sure if there's a way to add in items by their code or not yet, but the standard one I'm using doesn't seem to allow it. I can however get an interesting assortment of powerful items straight out of Ostagar/Kocari Wilds simply due to the equipment the programmers chose to equip the NPCs and placed corpses in those areas.
PS: I do not believe anything in this post can be considered a spoiler, but if there is something here please let me know and I will correct it/keep it in mind for the future. I think I was vague enough with everything that it wouldn't count as a spoiler.
