I just started doing a full playthrough of the CItadel DLC. I got through the first section, Ash and Wrex saved me and then we hitch a shuttle ride back to my crib. While we're there we start talking about the attack and then eventually the gun I picked up. Nothing unusual going on, but then Liara, as if materializing out of thin air just creeps up behind us and starts talking. I nearly dropped my fudge. I watched a playthrough of Citadel before where the player had Liara as a LI, so she was already there. But I didn't experience this before.

You know I've joked about Liara being a stalker, I know a lot of people have. And yes, part of me was serious but I was mostly kidding. But jesus fish! I didn't hear the door open, was she in my apartment collecting my gum from the trash when we happened to walk in?

This woman, I tell ya what.

Yeah, I experienced that once. It's jarring, to say the least.

And stupid because she's forced into that scene just to suggest that Glyph can run a scan of the Suppressor pistol, after the companion who already accompanied you suggested that it could be used as a lead. Now, all they had to do was have said companion suggest Liara and/or Glyph do a scan of it. But nooooo! They had to hamfist Liara into the scene, per usual.

God forbid any character other than her has the answers.

... oh, and inb4 -_-.

We're at a very ridiculous point if we're pretending the mere existence of a character in a scene is somehow a problem.

we're pretending the mere existence

U wot m8?
I'm sure OP started this thread because he actually loves Liara and wants to roleplay as someone who doesn't like her randomly popping into scenes at random points.  That's got to be it.

They should've had James discover where the gun came from. That would please everyone.

If you have made a trilogy where only one character is guaranteed to be alive in the third game then that character will probably get most of the lines in the third game.

I just roleplay my Shep coming to peace with Liara around so much. It's just something fate never lets him escape from. Fighting it only makes it worse.

You mean, Sam Traynor? Cause at least in vanilla ME3, she had all the answers.

I don't think it's so much her actual EXISTENCE in the scene so much as her appearing right the **** out of nowhere in a playthrough where she doesn't rescue Shepard at the car lot. She just APPEARS, suddenly part of the scene, as if she'd always been there, and it's very jarring for people, because before she appears, it was the group from the car lot - Shepard, Brooks, Wrex/James, and LI - and then a handful of moments later, in comes Joker with EDI and the others. It almost gives an impression that she had been in the apartment before Shepard and company arrived, waiting for Shepard (oh, as if I didn't have enough issues with Liara's handling making her look like a stalker...)

It's an extremely awkward introduction for her if you're playing a game where she is not already in the scene when it starts.

She's the Shadowbroker... Always there in the shadows, always watching, and if she isn't watchign her creepy spies will be aroudn somewhere... Watching... and doing some more watching, then writing a report back to Liara with a video of the event and underlining the important parts for her.

She's got a small army trackign you, how could you expect her not showing up when something interesting just happend to her favrite stalking target?

Also, remember, Glyph saved Shepard from the vault, somehow the clone and it's chenchmen completely forgot about the anoying VI drone that was buzzing about and forgot to lock it in with the others. Or shoot it...

Do you really complain about Liara arriving 20 seconds (I watched the scene on youtube, it's exactly 20 seconds) earlier than Joker and the rest of the crew? I mean really?

Its not her existence in the scene being a problem, its the manner which she appears in.

Liara suddenly standing behind shepard's back while not arriving with either shepard or the rest of the crew can imply that she already was in the apartment before shepard got there.

No, they just have different focuses. Samantha's there so Liara can run the rest of the galactic network.

Who does all the resource gathering?  Shepard
Who gets all the information?  Traynor
Who uses their vast network to pull off seemingly impossible tasks? TIM
Whose Prothean "expertise" is of any use?  Shiala and Javik

Does Liara really have anything going for her?

From what I've gathered by reading her computer terminal. She's focusing her efforts on helping to cordinate and supply the Crucible construction, and keeping tabs on the Reapers overall progress it would seem. Plus the time capsule back up plan.

Sure. She likes and plays piano, I like and play piano.

Good luck arguing that completely subjective reason for liking her.

I saw one email that involved her helping the Crucible project, it was right between Zaeed's shopping list and a conversation between Kasumi and Dr. NPC.

You can also walk in on her coordinating the effort verbally.

There's also a few about the Rachni and geth helping on the project, she's keeping tabs on it all so I'm assuming she's helping along with the coordination to some extent. She also told the Krogan to keep away from the dead Reaper on Tuchanka, and the conversiation you have with her imply that she's gathering up man power and resources, while her agents are monitering the Reapers(she even lost a few that way), so I get the feeling she's doing a lot of work behind the scenes it's just not flushed out or explicitedly stated what it is she's working on exactly.
