Dammit, I can't find the thread.

Ideally, an entire new arc in ME 3 focused on the recruitment of the Terminus Systems fleets and armies. Various smaller battles throughout ME 3 that culminate in Reapers being destroyed - preferably at least four or five. Altered dialogue with the Council and Alliance in ME 2 to make clear the advancements and preparations made (although generally against the geth, not Reapers) and to dispel any notions of building a bajillion dreadnoughts from nothing. Level design in ME 2 altered to to demonstrate shipyards and other preparations. A significantly altered Battle of the Citadel, particularly focusing on Sovereign's direct defeat, a lot more geth, and a much more battered Citadel. An altered main plot for ME 2 focusing on removing the Reaper's weapon on indoctraination. A heavier focus on ground warfare, with the introduction of jamming and planetary shielding technologies to dispel notions of the Reapers being unbeatable in space. Somewhat less of the phenomanon I've yet to find addressed and a name for and have therefore dubbed 'overforeshadowing.'

Different how? What would be changed without changing the reapers themselves?

Yeah, the reapers possess both a massive advantage in numbers and technology.

Even with their intelligence nerfed by the writers in ME3, they were still winning the war with ease. Conventional military forces were completely outmatched.

So... Mary-suing the galaxy against the mary-sue villains.

This isn't anime.

Well I made the mistake of buying Halloween candy 2 months ahead of time, needless to say I've already eaten most of it. Note to selves buy more candy.

Oh God, I forgot Holloween is coming up. All those rotten kids. Eeergh. >:(

Shush.  Halloween is marvelous.

Tonight's the night...

Not very original, but I convinced a lady friend to dress up in nothing but shrink wrap and duct tape so we'd have the couple theme.

Just make sure she has a better ending to her night than the show did, sir.  Shouldn't be tough, though.

If Fiddles would join me, she could be Hannah. That'd be awesome and sweet.

No Massively, the moronic insistancies that the Council and Alliance should build a bajillion dreadnoughts are 'mary-sueing.' My suggestions are meant to stand against that.

For the record, the Reapers are not Mary-Sues at all. Quite the opposite, even.

Is that enough for you, Dreamgazer?

It's not even all of it. Liara as the Shadow Broker and Cerberus would ideally contribute significantly somehow, although I'm not sure at the moment.

If you're rewriting Mass Effect why not just axe mistakes like Cerberus and Liara being the Shadowbroker altogether?

Liara becoming the Shadow Broker is one of the best developments of the trilogy. And throwing it away would be a stupid waste of resources.

No it's not. It's rather odd and out of character. That just sounds like fanboyism on your end to me.

And I think making her one is a stupid waste of resources. I think the Yahg Broker was much more efficient and effective. Why can't I keept him? He's actually competent.

It doesn't convince me, but at least it's thought out well enough.

Most instances of an attrition victory---including yours---involve nerfing the Reapers' power and scope in one form or another and tinkering with things in ME2. That's fine, but it's kind of bending the rules.

If we're going back through the series, I think we should just leave the door permanently shut on the Reapers at the end of Mass Effect 1.

Really? Is that why LotSB is overwhelmingly considered the best or second best DLC? Clearly, the numbers are with me. Sounds to me that this makes most ME players who buy DLC guilty of 'fanboyism.'

Because he was working with the Reapers and wanted to give your body to harbinger? -_-

"small engagements that destroy 4 - 5 Reapers everytime..."

Yeah, no. One Reaper overwhelmed the Citadel fleet. 4 - 5 is going to be tough for an entire Campaign Fleet.

For the record, the Reapers are not Mary-Sues at all. Quite the opposite, even.

Nigh-invincible, with numbers that dwarf the rest of the galaxy, and are hyper-advanced beyond the galaxies own technology.

Yeah, that's almost a textbook overpowered mary-sue villain.

No. A Mary Sue is contrived character. It would be utterly contrived for ancient machines who wait 50,000 years at a time to not be incredible powerful and numerous. Henece the ridiculousness of all the 'solutions' the Reapers have no defenses against for basically no reason.

What I meant is 4-5 battles. Not battles with 4-5 dead capital ships each time. Besides, I stated my that ideally the Battle of the Citadel would be very significantly altered anyway.

Not really, it's kind of taken off in the last five-ish years but it's nothing like the scale of the US's Halloween. :P
