Good...god, what have they done to faith builds?! GS, GLS and SLS damage cut in half, casts cut in three! Blinding Bolt even worse than before! Defender Greatsword nerfed to hell! Are From on drugs? They just nerfed their most iconic and used class in the ground...

And what's this?

"Increase the attacking power of Great Resonant Soul"

Meh. They gave every other magic build the shaft, surprised it took them so long to get around to Faith.

And the buff to GRS was needed IMO. After its initial nerf there was literally no reason to use it over the basic Dark Orb.

Playing through the first Dark Souls at the moment. What's a good SL to be at before endgame? By extension, since I'll be playing DaS2 at some point later this year, what's a good SL to be at before endgame there? Thanks.

Faith was hit way harder than any other, all offensive mircale are utterly useless now. Even Fire Orb does more damage than GLS at 50 faith with a max lightning dragon chime. I heard that the damage nerf was not intended and that they're planning on increasing it to more than it originally had, in order to go along with the drastically reduced casts. I really hope that's true, but it's what the patch details say after all.

I'm not sure about GRS, the damage is not as bad in PvP as the stamina drain.

@ Matieo ~ SL120-125.

so i made it to Sinh in NG+, i removed his tail and upon its death nothing happened. Shame really. I was hoping for some weapon, dagger or something.

Also i thought that they will use old mechanics of recrafting a broken sword with a sword of the boss into new weapon, but i guess no such thing for DkS2.

I don't think I'm going to do this update. It sounds lame and malfunctioned.

Just realized I will be going to China to work there for half a year on the 26th this month. The same day Crown of the old iron king is released. Fml.

I'm sad that I'll have to wait playing this and DA:I, but at least I'll have earned enough to get a new pc until then, so i can play DA:I in all it's frostbite 3 splendor. And by then I can instantly jump into the ivory king dlc once I'm done with ye olde iron king.

yeah saw that yesterday.

Jesus H. Christ, logged online yesterday. I had a desire to help some folks with the last two bosses of the dlc. And was invaded, like four times in a row. You know guys what is wrong when "awesome" pvp build are getting published? you know exactly what to do to counter them. And when you are using a weapon like KUGS, people are dying in one combo from it, because people have no idea what to expect, because this weapon is not something you may see people using often. And you can have stamina for four strikes which means certain death for the most invaders or hosts, and it is real hard to avoid a stunlock by the KUGS.

Had a conversation with a Corp member about this, when people just can't make their own gameplay style in the games, instead they prefer to use builds or solutions already provided for them from some other people. Metagame i believe it is called?

Why it is so hard to put some thoughts in what you are doing? To analyze consequences of your action and learn from that? Seriously this is why most of the games were made before year 2001 so good. People do not want to put some thought in what they are doing.

This is why Souls games have such value, the minute you give some slack, game will make you pay.

see for yourself. i saw no good weapons or armor. some spells though, like dark soulsword or something.

it took about 17 hours for NG+ DLC run, although i was warming Dragon Shrine for souls and it took like 1 hour and a half to kill mobs there 10 times.

Armor is looking nice, some red cape, black steel. But it is just too heave for my new character, i hate fat rolls and with the weight of GWC and KUGS i will fat roll if i am about to use that armor.

Sword is kinda eh, like a Royal Swordsman's sword by size with Mirrah move set.

Boss weapons are not very impressive as well. Spear and "axe" which is a halberd with spin to win strong attack.

Fight with the Dragon is rather fun, but unlike Kalameet, this dragon is telegraphing his attacks too obviously. Also this "challenge for coop play" is nothing more than a damage reduction for bosses, which is kinda lame.

Also in NG+ there is no additional mobs, like phantoms in the DLC area. Or some encounters like Freja on the cliff.

I will keep my character in waiting stage for new dlcs to come. Without moving forward to NG+, because i really want to make it to NG10 at some point, even if at NG6 character is pretty much a demigod with maxed damage bonuses and hp.

DLC is good by a level design, but if you are not in a hurry, just wait for complete trilogy.

The dlc is pretty great. Awesome area, amazing design, enemies that are hard enough to force you to think about what you're doing instead of charging right in. The biggest flaw is the lack of story*. There are tidbits of lore, common to the DaS franchise, but it's not enough to really explain why you're there. The new pieces of gear are nothing really impressive (although I haven't really tried them out yet). One thing that stick out for me, a heavy poison user, is a pair of gauntlets that'll increase your poison damage. I don't know if it they're good enough to be useful though. Other than that, there's a ring that'll increase your lightning damage by a pretty hefty amount (other types of damage will get their own rings in the other dlc's), and a pretty good-looking armor, drakeblood armor. It looks like a more realistic armor, black plate with silver linings and a red cape with a dragon embroidery. Without spoiling too much, the bosses are pretty cool too. One of them can summon other players, like the mirror knight, although it's supposedly really, really rare.

* Supposedly the story will be built on throughout all three dlc's, and getting the crowns from all 3 areas will unlock a "secret". Hopefully some of the things will be explained by then.

The Drakeblood armor has great armor stats for its weight, elemental resistance is meh but I've been using it for a while now.

Yorgh's Spear is a lot of fun to use, cross between a twinblade, lance and spear with a hefty amount of damage. But it looks like ****, so I'm still sticking to Ornstein's spear.

Speaking of the Dragonslayer spear, it seems to have a strange backstab damage multiplier as it can deal anywhere between 850 and 1400 backstab damage. I'm assuming it has to do with the counter attack.

spear is a thrust right? it supposed to deal extra on backstabs.

I like what I see. The level design falls somewhere between Riven and God Of War 2... pretty much how I'd sum up places like Heide's Tower of Flame and the like. Based on some of them, I'd wager we'll be getting more puzzle-based scenarios - how many is hard to say.

Something I really wish is that we'd gain access to the gear of the four knights of Gwyn somewhere in one of the dlc's. Artorias's armor was the best-looking armor out of all in both DaS and DaS2, and I'd love to have it in the latter.

And while I am looking forward to the old iron king dlc, I gotta admit I'm more interested in the ivory king dlc. If it really is about Lord Aldia, it has a huge potential for some whacko stuff. I was kinda dissapointed with Aldia's keep, since it gave the impression of a great underlying story and theme, but was made boring by a generic area and dull layout. Aldia was Vendrik's brother, and worked with uncovering the secrets of the soul by using live experiments, and also tried to find a way to control dragons. He was pretty much a mad scientist, similar to Seath. So little of this was touched upon in the base game though, and Aldia's keep was just a generic brick mansion, and a large part of it played out in a straight corridor.

If the ivory king turns out to really be Aldia, I hope the dlc features more whacko stuff, and touches more on his story.

I defeated the snake lady and farmed most of the souls in the Iron Keep and the Bell Towers (I'm around lvl 140). I'm disappointed that despite my Faith skill is 30, adding lightning bonus to my weapons actually makes them weaker.

I need tip to defeat the Iron King (Lava Demon) and the other Demon (which is in the keep). Also there was Some Gargoyles in the Bastille which are beyond me to defeat.

Is 50 the final level for strength skill? I tried lvl51 and nothing happened to my stats, so I added to my other skills.

The smelter demon is actually a really easy fight if you have the Gyrm greatshield, it very usefully has 100% resistance to fire. I would suggest using it against him if you don't already have it. As for the Iron King, I found it easiest to hang back off to the side of the building and shoot sunlight spears at him, while letting some summoned sunlight bro's do all the hard work

Past 50 most stats have diminishing returns, you're better off investing points into other attributes.
