Neat video :) Never had the curse gear and his flailing tails bugged me, so never bothered. The sword looks pretty badass:

Spoiler

Thanks! It turns out that I can't use it, because it requires a higher intelligence than I currently have. That's okay, though, I was pretty much just hunting achievements!

for the one or two people still playing Dark Souls

well there is actually some people playing. not like a lot of them obviously, but decent amount i guess.

i saw some soul-signs here and there.

have some mixed feelings, like controls of DkS1 is so much worse. Well because it is a direct port to pc without any changes. However game itself is so  much better and deeper.

atmosphere, characters, lore.

Love Lautrec of Carim.

Man, dat last boss. It's like they fused Alone with Fume and then added a sh*tload of knights for back up. Even with the loyce knight's help it's a clusterf*ck.

Somehow, I managed to get him stuck in front of one of the gates and he just stood there, staring at it. Ran a few circles around him and then finished off with my halberd. Weird glitch.

Atleast now I have my full Catarina set.

The first boss is rather interesting. Gotta love what they did with it. Hard to do co-op since a lot of players didn't prepare for him. Shame most enemies are the same boring dudes in armor from Shulva/Brume.

Btw, is there a second bone fist? Already got one from the cave.

first boss? tiger? he is fun to some point.

as for Ivory King, i really don't agree that this boss is a fused Alone with Fume. Honestly i had a feeling that i am fighting Old Dragon Slayer. Worthless really.

I bought the game for my PS3 but its still sitting in the shrink wrap on my game shelf. I just can't fit it into my gaming schedule. Is it really as hard as people make it out to be? I am new to the series and I can take a chalkenge.

Dark Souls 2 is not hard. game is rather... poorly designed in comparison to Demon's Souls and Dark Souls.

It's more difficult than your average RPG, but it's not impossible. Most would agree that it's significantly easier than the previous games.

My Advice to Newcomers for Souls games would be this: Be Perceptive, Be Smart, and Be Careful.

Relatively speaking, it can be a passive game. With a shield handy, a lot of the normal mobs aren't as bad as they could be. You have a certain amount of stamina that regenerates, so just be smart about how much/little you use. Watch carefully for the enemy attacks, and try to find the best way to counterract it.

Dark Souls 2 is not hard.

The typical gamer would greatly disagree. I died around 200-300 times by the end of the game.

I agree with Althix, it's not that hard and many of my deaths were cheap deaths caused by falling. Even some boss arenas rely on that to cause a quick and cheap death to the player. Dark Souls 1 was 10x better.

Yeah, the tiger. Good to have something different for a change. Both bosses are a pain to farm right now because people either don't have the eye or haven't found the other knights. The co-op boss can go f*ck itself along with that area. Didn't think they could one up Smelter II gauntlet but here you go. Might try going there again for Lucatiel's hat.

Now that you mention it, the boss did seem have a similar moveset to ye Old Dragonslayer. He was stuck in place for me after his health went down to half so I didn't really have much difficulty with him. Then again, I expected to see a Bed of Chaos-ish eldritch abomination, not Sir Alonne/Ornstein with a lightsaber. Atleast his sword is cool.

That last reward, tho. Damn you From for making the player grind the soul pieces by fighting the same boring armored dudes with infinite poise to get some armor set. Not sure if it is even worth it.

Dark Souls 2 is vastly inferior when compared to the original. Most areas and bosses are forgettable, majority of trash mob are boring dudes in armor. Music, except for a few bossfights, is also not as epic. Also now you can be invaded no matter your condition. I liked that sort of balance in Dark Souls 1 where it was sort of a thrill - stay hollow and you're safe, go human and do co-op but at a risk of being invaded. Human or hollow, now it doesn't matter at all.

Overall the only good things are the improved PC port, much better connectivity, the ability to restore humanity whenever/wherever you want, improved character creator and also better inventory.

Nope, it isn't really hard...I mean I didn't really have that much trouble beating it, compared to the first one where I'm just getting through Sen's Fortress.

Best way to beat Sen's is by speedrunning (took me 3 tries) to the only bonfire. Clearing it for loot in reverse is much easier.

If it's your first adventure into the Souls franchise then you're likely going to find it challenging. Dark Souls has a steep learning curve.

That being said, I found it to be much easier than Dark Souls 1. I breezed through the game hardly breaking a sweat.

Yeah, this. I enjoyed the game, but not to nearly the same level of the first two. I liked the changes under the hood with its mechanics and the enhanced frame rate, but it's not at the same hierarchy of quality that the first two are on.

Definitely wasn't as blown away with music. Shunsuke Kida and Sakuraba have more Well-Composed bits. I prefer listening to Shunsuke's outside of the game, but Sakuraba's work with Dark Souls works better as a You're-About-To-Get-Your-Ass-Kicked sort of music. Demon's Souls is a bit more drawn-out, Dark Souls is more epic. Lots of Ah's.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, AH AH, dun dun dun dun dun.

Aye. A few of the enemies aren't avoidable, but you can run past most of them. A lot of those deaths would be environmental. :P

That would actually work pretty well, combining it with Homeward Bones (I would hate to have to walk those last couple of swinging-blade bridges more than once!)

Finally got Luca's maskless hat and the living ring thanks to a summon who knew his/her way around that goddamn tundra. Too bad the boss is lame. Then again, the previous DLC's had awful co-op areas with meh bosses too. This one takes the cake, tho.

50...ugh...I still have at least 30 more to collect.

Overall I like the dlc and found it easier than the Old Iron King dlc. However the Frigid Outskirts have to be the most badly designed area in Souls history. I didn't even bother with the lame boss, grabbed the ring and hat and left forever :P

Dark Souls 2 PvP > Dark Souls 1 PvP.

In DkS2, most people don't even try to backstab and PvP is more about actual skull rather than who gets behind who first ( ). I see so many people moaning about PvP in Dark Souls 2 but it's far better than what was in the first game and on the chance that you do get back-stabbed, unless you have bad armor, the back-stab doesn't even do much damage. I think most people moaning about the PvP are the people who relied solely on back-stabs in the first game. Here it's truly about timing attacks, feinting attacks and block breaking. Since players can't turtle behind shields anymore, that strategy for the first game will get you instantly killed here since DkS2 gives us an easy way to knock somebody's shield back.

Seriously I went back to Dark Souls 1 PvP this week and it's just back-stab fishers who do that circle technique to get behind you (which thankfully I know how to negate). It's been like this for years. I have no complaints for DkS2 multi-player yet asides from soul memory making it harder to find matches.

you know... i do complain about pvp in DkS2 simply because of several reasons:

 - Soul Memory, I despise arenas, be it blue or red. Arenas sucks. If you invade through the orb - you will find yourself in several hundreds of thousands souls in just a few minutes. Easy.

 - connection issues. I was playing all night in the weekend. 95% of people i invaded or people from the arena were from States if i am about to believe their profile on steam. Yeah ok, but i am sitting on the other side of the globe. So you can imagine all that circus with phantom hits.

and some side thought about covenants in the game in general - they suck. And i mean it. Covenants suck.

I want to be Gravelord servant again.

yeah one more thing: for a PC version of DkS1, many maners or aspects of pvp came from console community. Such as pvp etiquette. With popularization of the DkS2 to the masses of people this etiquiette ceased to exist. And this is sad.

kekeke btw.  i just killed Liara couple of days ago.

Etiquette in the Dark Souls 1 PvP community? Okay maybe it was like that two years ago but I started playing MP for the first time officially in 2013 and apart from a few people, most people were back stabbers and gankers with no honour whatsoever. I don't buy all that "you shouldn't heal" crap that came from the community. That comes from the same people who exploit the back-stab so I'll damn well use a fairer mechanic of the game rather than something completely overpowered.

There's only two rules I obey in Dark Souls 1: if someone has performed a gesture, don't attack and if someone is fighting the enemies and they're alone without any summons, let them finish them off and heal. If I'm facing one person then I don't want the fight to be over with one hit, I want an enjoyable and challenging fight which is the whole point of doing PvP for me.

One thing that is better with Dark Souls 1 pvp is that it's more unpredictable especially in the forest covenant where you could end up with a host, forest hunter and two darkwraiths fighting making it a complete free-for-all. You don't get that stuff in Dark Souls 2.

because pvp areas and covenants suck in DkS2.

as for no healing. you know i just force this on people, you can't trust anyone these nights.

I never chug estus in PvP, I don't gank, I always bow, I don't use cookie-cutter builds and don't backstab fish. I don't care too much if others follow these rules, but I won't ever go down on their level if they do.
