Those stats looked similar, but I noticed Dark BNS, Dark RES and Petrify RES which seem new. Poison and Bleeding are obvious, along with Cursed. Blood loss would drain your health quick after an enemy critically hit you and poison drained your health ( I remember how muched it sucked fighting Quelagg poisoned). Being cursed once reduced my total max health to one quarter vitality. But Petrified...interesting.

I played a role of a Pyromancer from the Swamp in Dark Souls, only used pyromancies and even buffed a basic steel axe to +10 and later fire +5. Chaos fire to +10, and even chaos whip. This time, while I liked the mixed build, I think I might enjoy a purely Dex build.

I've been very hesitant to read or watch much of anything, but I have gleaned who the first boss is. At least in one play though. Apparently it's called The Last Giant, and is the creature impaled with a piece of wood. As seen in the Cursed trailer. I also hear, not surprisingly, that two or three high levels are floating around the starting area

Still haven't decided whether to wait for the PC version or just go for PS3. I get the feeling the video options will be more varied this time around so I may be able to boost up the frame rate. Antialiasing, bloom,  and resolution was about it for the first.

I guess it depends on how much you care about being a part of the community that tries and figure out things in the game at launch. If you're not into that aspect of Souls games it might be worth waiting for the PC version if you don't want to double dip.

I don't think it's been confirmed if there is a sunbros covenant, but prepare to to 420 praise it.

 

EDIT: VaatiVidya who has played the retail version of Dark Souls 2 for an extended period of time confirms that Sunbros do exist in the game at 8:11.

The goodies you get for pre-ordering on steam are pretty nice, but I simply can't wait on this game. :| The resolution and frame rate are also getting upgraded.

Don't forget your Grass Crest Shield.

Oh yeah. That and Quelaag's Firesword were my bread and butter in that game as a melee fighter. Grass Crest Shield may not have the best blocking ability(without upgrades), but that stamina boost is worth it. I combined that with a green blossom and it was godlike. Only way I survived Kalameet. DS2, at least based on the previews, isn't skimping on dragons either.
