More like a month and a few days, lame, haha.
If it means we're getting a good PC port, I don't mind that much.

From the game play, i don't see much difference, still the same tactic...roll over and attack the monster butt. It is because they still using the same enemy design. I suspect there will be no actually fighting in sense...it will end up the same
Don't start.

Apparently some people like the tactical aspect of the game.

You don't have invincibility frames when doing things like Backstabbing anymore, so backstabbing won't be an optimal way to take out groups of guys.
Everyone who has played DkS2 has said to take everything you know about DkS and throw it out the window. I expect very few of the DkS strategies will actually work as well as they did in DkS, but we'll see come Tuesday.
Welcome to melee combat in video games - the goal is to Stick Them With The Pointy End, and blocking/rolling is part of avoiding all the deaths that come with the game. To an extent, you're right - in terms of AI, there's hardly much difference between the asylum demon and the taurus demon, outside of monster type and the level design around them. I'm sure FromSoftware has heard this before and will try to improve on it for the sequel. From the game play, i don't see much difference, still the same tactic...roll over and attack the monster butt.
Good thing people who have already played the game has said it was good, otherwise that trailer would have made me worried. That's way too upbeat for a Souls game in my opinion.
Well I'm excited for tomorrow. This is one of my most anticipated games this year.

Lucky you. Damn Americans. I bet you and your American friends will be sitting around the fire-place drinking your god-awful tea as you play it saying stuff like "I do say, good fellow! That was a fine death!" Meanwhile, us Brits have to wait till Friday.

Next time don't lose the war. Maybe then you can have earlier release dates.

Yeah sounds about right.

I like Dark Souls concept and all, just the combat mechanic and what it is build upon.
It just make you to meta game much...you survive only because you know, not because you getting better or experimenting. You die on the way, live again, then you know what to do because you going through it again and again. Even after you have deal with your enemies, rest at bonfire, they all live again, so what is the point?
There is no point at all.
From the trailer, i can see it is worsen...across the bridge, there's a dragon cut off the bridge, so what is the lesson? "Do not cross the bridge"?
Tis an omen of bad luck. ![]()
Is there loads of bugs like DS1? because that is the only thing that will keep me getting it on march 14th.
Not that I've seen. I don't recall the original having many bugs, though exploits for experience were very prevalent. I'm probably too early in the game to see something major. Edit: Yikes. Is there loads of bugs like DS1? because that is the only thing that will keep me getting it on march 14th.
Thanks I really don't want to get blocked in a game as long as this.
Just got my copy and will start in a few hours. Can't wait.
Loving it so far. Just reached Majula as a swordsman.
I thought I would hate the increased cinematics, but it's still sufficiently creepy in its approach. I have a few initial theories as far as Drangleic's relation to Lordran that I'm curious to see pan out. My goal is to take the game very slow and savour each environment, something I failed to do with the original.
My only concern at this point is something noted in the Ign review is that Drangleic felt like a less cohesive world than Lordran. I'm hoping to see that proven false.
Edit: Has anyone had some major success with dual wielding yet? I heard it was retooled to be improved in Dark Souls 2, but I'm having trouble seeing any new mechanics to really justify its use (so far).
I WANT YOU NOW! COME OUT FOR PC NOW.
I unfortunately have to agree with that. The dungeon variety is great, but they don't feel as interconnected as they did in DS1. That could arguably be an effect of having fast travel, but not likely the main reason. It's almost reminding me of World of Warcraft, where the transitions between locations don't blend very well.My only concern at this point is something noted in the Ign review is that Drangleic felt like a less cohesive world than Lordran. Spiros, your tears are delicious, and will be even more delicious when you start dying in the game.I WANT YOU NOW! COME OUT FOR PC NOW.
The damage done by Double-Wielding a 1h feels rebalanced, and not in our favor. I typically stick with Sword and Shield now. Normally it isn't a big deal to me, since many of the bosses would probably pummel me if I tried that after one of their attacks.Has anyone had some major success with dual wielding yet? From what I've seen in reviews, that travel system reminds me a lot of what it was like back in Demon Souls.
I'd only rented Demon's Souls way back when, and thought it was a broken, annoying game, returning it 3-4 hours later. Now I wish I could get my hands on an old copy. I don't mind the system at all, they make it very user-friendly and the backtracking isn't missed. The issue I see is a lot of the swaps between dungeon areas is done underground, so the transition doesn't feel as organic as DS1 where it's nearly all done outside. From what I've seen in reviews, that travel system reminds me a lot of what it was like back in Demon Souls.
I haven't been able to play as much as I'd like, but I can say that the message-leaving community can still be a huge pile of jerks.
In Heide's Tower of Flame (which I probably shouldn't even be in, considering most of the knights can kill me in one hit and I can do almost no damage to them unless I use my spells) someone left a message outside of a fog door. "Hurrah for safe zone!" I thought, great, I fluked my way through to another bonfire... although it did seem a little close to the last one... I enter the fog door anyway, thinking, oh, maybe it's a merchant or a covenant.
