Ok peeps, have a problem. Some of you may know my PC died a rather tragic death recently. Basically mobo has fried, taking with it 2 psu's and my gfx card...now.....

Need to access my storage drive ( a 250gb Hitachi IDE) and upon plugging into this lappy with a USB/IDE adapter, it showing in My Comp (drive F)...but when go to access it its coming up with:

Please Insert a Disk into Removable Disk (F)

Now, the drive letter is not already mapped, have changed it anyway within Disk Management, no change, won't let me format, get this error:

There is no disk in Drive F, Please insert a disk and try again

In Disk Management, its saying its a removable disk with no media and if I right click the disk in My Comp and select properties i get:

Used Space - 0 bytes, Free Space - 0 Bytes, Capacity - 0 bytes

Sooo...

Im taking it that the drive is fubar'd....but, anyone know a way for me to access it? Have used this app:
http://www.nucleuste...a-Recovery.html
to try and recover the data, but it cant find the drive Image IPB
Any help be greatly appreciated...have 225gb of data Id rather not lose on this drive....

Got any local experts you can take your HDD to?

(Because that's not a problem you're going to be able to fix unless you happen to be an expert on HDD repair/recovery.)

Who do you trust? There some documents on there I had not got around to backing up that I would rather keep personal....but hey...if I need them back?

Hoping to get it into a friends machine later, see if its accesable that way, if it is then will just back everything up onto a new drive when i have built my new pc and then throw it lol :)
