Using that logic, shadowboxing in your room is sport too. So no.

As Wii boxing fails to encompass the definition which stipulates sports as an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, it would still be a, "No."

Wii boxing is basically a wrist flick. No skill involved. As to shadow boxing, what skill? No one sees you do it. Or if they do, they pretend not too or laugh. So, still. No.

The closest sport-like gaming activity I've done is probably playing GT Academy 2012 and 2013 (aka the Gran Turismo 6 Demo) for hours everyday on a racing wheel.

Wrestling the wheel was really a workout and I couldn't do it without air conditioning.

Nope, gaming, chess, poker more like competitive events/hobbies , sports tend to have a physical aspect to them.

Ernest Hemingway said it very well: "There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering. All the rest are merely games."

It looks easy but motorsport is probably one of the most physically demanding sports.

I can't even imagine what it takes to be strapped in wearing firesuit and helmet while experiecing excessive heat, intense lateral Gs and high noise levels for hours without losing concentration.

I have done some simple autocross and 1/4 mile drag racing in my own cars, but they are nothing in comparison to a real motorsport like NASCAR, WRC, or Formula One.
