But it's a Bioware game and trailers are used for marketing. There is always so much more to the characters, Dragon Age wasn't about blood and violance, despite the trailers.
I'm sure Legion will be an awesome character, trustworthy or not.

And we know we can make him loyal, we can make all our squadmates loyal, it's what the devs have been saying all along.

1#: I reprogrammed it so that it couldn't harm or disobey me.
2#: I had Tali install a remotely detonated bomb, emp generator, etc. inside it so that any betrayal would be met with instant incapacitation or death.
It might well be the case that I simply need it in order to complete my mission; but that sure as hell doesn't mean I'd trust it.

Tell that to the Reapers. Sentient machines go psycho as well as anyone else. Legion doesn't seem crazy though, but I'm still curious of what gets him ally himself with Shepard...

I'd most likely trust Legion more than anyone else on the crew. Synthetics are driven by Logic more than Emotion and so they are easier to reason with and understand.

You assume that merely being logical neccessarily entails that you can convince it that your objectives are compatible and that it is in it's rational interest not to betray you. It may well be the case that logic would dictate that the best possible means for Legion to attain it's objectives would entail betraying you.

I don't even trust my own race - I KNOW they're a bunch of back-stabbing opportunists.
However - that means he'll be treated equally on my crew. He screws up -
I turn him into an XBox: Sol III
Exactly what i was thinking.

And besides, if he trusts you, and no one else does, you could use his flashlight head to blind the others as punishment.

You got a point. My Shep should buy a can-opener, just for the case...

A. refer to me as "master" in a very loyal and sarcastic way.
B. make liberal use of the phrase "meatbag"
C. inform me if he is about to make a statement, or ask me a question, proceeding each sentence.
if he does not, you can be sure im throwing him out an airlock or melting him down for omni-gel.

He's a walking projector. All you need is a large enough projector screen, and some way to connect him to a computer, and you've got a working Movie Night for the crew.

This would be beyond satisfaction, dont you think.
its a win-win.
simple.
