I don't think I got over level 20/21 on either of my playthroughs. I did most of the side quests except could have missed some for side characters I didn't team up with much, as I usually grouped with Wynne, Morrigan, Leliana, Alistair, and less often Shale and the dog.  I added Wardens keep and the Stone Prisoner midway through this play and did those more obvious quests.  I did not do any leveling "tricks" or exploit any game "bugs". 

Any thoughts on what a player just playing relatively straight through the plot while doing all the main side quests (using lists on the web) might easily miss?  I don't care about going to higher levels by itself, so I'm not looking for exploits, I just don't want to miss any play sequences.  So my question is where there are any major areas / quests or opportunities for additional play that might be easily overlooked.

In Orzammar Royal Palace you can summon a dragon to get Ageless(awesome sword), in the Dead Trenches if you put on all the Legion of the dead armour and select the Legion relic you summon a gangue shade which opens up a quest, in the mages tower I missed the watchguard of the reaching quest because I couldn't figure out what I was meant to do after getting the codex entries. After completing nature of the Beast return to the Forest and theres a group of elves there.



These could all be easily overlooked. it was four playthroughs before I got Ageless and three for Yusaris. Hope that helps.

I killed Master Ignacio when I first met him on my first playthrough, and PC was a warrior with no stealing, so I missed out on all the Crows and Slim C's quests. Finished at level 22 and pretty well did every other side quest (missed Wynne's companion quest). Second playthrough was an "imperfect ethics" mage with stealing, and I did *everything* (including running around the map near the end just trying to get the Starmetal encounter, and basically getting *every* random encounter)...ended up level 24.



Did you do Shale's companion quest to Cadash Thaig?
