What kind of reductio absurdum, fallacious non-logic is this?

Is that a spell from Harry Potter? What does it do?

It's Latin. It's a logical fallacy in which an argument is taken to an absurd (hint) conclusion with little grounding in reality.

But I can totally see why someone would think it's a magical spell. I did too, at one point.

I was joking.

The decision has been made. Whether they're needed or not, BioWare has chosen to work on the graphics.

There is no reason they can't just decide "graphics are not where we need to focus"

Actually, there's a great many reasons.

Oh please do tell me

Oh, are we now under the utterly laughable delusion that gliches and bugs are someone uncommon in video games?

ME3 as a whole was pretty well polished for glitches and bugs.

Omega was not

Oh I disagree, I found ME2 superior in terms of polish.  Liara twisting head, more frame pop-ups, like in ME1, THE CHARACTER CREATOR.

The reasons are childishly obvious. A better looking game is a more enticing and immersive experience.

And they've created a situation where they have to hope their expanded audience stays with them and their niche audience doesn't leave them. Kind of problematic considering that Mass Effect isn't a GTA or a COD. It won't move record breaking numbers just off of name alone.

And if you don't think that's a legit problem...

Look at the fallacies you all have to drive yourselves into to support your little dogmas. We're at the point where multiple people are seriously claiming that there is no reason for BioWare to improve their graphics. There's no reason to make their game look better.

What reason is there to?

Playing video games for graphic is like watching p0rn for the story

I only have one dog and his name is not ma, brosef.  There is no viable reason to make their game look better.

Nintendo seems to prove every time that graphics don't matter, as far as sales go.

Well, they do after awhile, but they show just how long you can thrive without it.

Art style and design matter more than sheer graphic fidelity. It's about giving something aesthetically pleasing to look at and not simply something more realistic.

I'd say graphics do matter to certain people, and that better graphics for certain games help, but they're not absolutely necessary.
