Hi guys, I'm a NWN veteran (since 2002!) and I'm not used to the fact that the server list is not shown...

I created a server with the DM client, gave my friend my public IP...told him to use "Direct Connect", but he gets "Server is not Responding. Server Time out" message. What gives? We tried it a couple of times when I was at two different networks.

I even told him to add :5121 at the end, but to no avail, he keeps getting the same error. Any idea what could it be? Help would be greatly appreciated.

We both have 1.69 version of the game with both of the expansions (he has the Diamond edition)

Are you behind a firewall/router? Might need to port forward or open a DMZ.

this, you are probably under firewall with NAT enabled, you need to use port forwarding on a router to enable anyone to log into your server

alternatively you can use some vpn such as hamachi, comodo, tunngle that often allows to workaround this issue

and btw since you mentioned diamond edition, that edition is bugged claims itself to be 1.69 but its missing many files, your friend should run a 1.69 critical rebuild if he didnt already
