Hi, I'm hoping someone can tell me what I missed. I picked up the UNC Privateers quest line pretty quickly, but I've left it to near the end of the game to do it. I'm ready to head to Virmier and I want to get all the minor quests finished first.

Anyway, UNC Privateers is the chain where someone asks you to find their brother's ship in the Horse Head Nebula, Strennus System. According to the Wikia I had to hack a computer on Noveria in Lorik Quin' s lower level floor office first, and then I can scan the ship and continue the chain.

My problem is that I've already completed Noveria and going back to Lorik' s office gives me nothing to hack, meaning I've either already done it or the Wikia is wrong (although I'm leaning to the first one) and I don't have the option to scan the ship. I'm playing on the PS3 Digital download version.

Can anyone help me, or at least be able to tell me if the chain has any impact on the later games?

Edit for crappy Kindle text replacement thingy.

No impact on later games. Don't know what went wrong.

No you don't have to hack the computer. There are 3 ways to start this quest:

1. Speak to Garoth in the Citadel Tower
2. Hack that computer on Noveria
3. Just go to the Strenuus system and scan for an anomaly.

There are multiple ways to start most of the side missions in ME1. And you can do most of them just by showing up in their star system.

I looked at the wiki and it says the same thing I am telling you.

You do not have to hack the computer on Noveria. You do not even have to talk to Garroth on the Citadel to open the quest. You only need to find Willem's body on the uncharted planet in the Strennus System. (You have to scan a ship first in the system, which then allows you to land on the planet.)

After finding the body, talk to Garroth on the Citadel (Citadel Tower) to finish the quest.

Thanks for the responses. I've skipped it for now but knowing there's multiple ways of starting quests is very handy for future playthroughs. Thanks again!
