Which do you enjoy more: carrying a team or attempting to keep up with someone of equal/higher skill?

I don't like 15 revives medal on wave 2, and I also don't play this game to bump my score-peen.

Playing with 3 players better than me just utterly trivialized platinum and made it into a race to the spawns, so now I most enjoy playing duos with good players - means there are enough enemies to go around usually.

Had one last night on a gold pug where I came in at wave 2 or 3 and still outscored everyone else by a good 15k, it was gratifying to know I can consistently score high. I know score isn't everything, but it does mean something.
On the other hand, things just go so much smoother and faster with good teammates where I'm not clutching every other wave.
I guess on the balance, I'd rather have competent teammates.

I always like to have at least one PUG though just to see WTF they will do.

Trying to keep up with another good player is fun and makes for quick games.
How can there even be a choice in this matter?
I'm just...wow. This is...wow.

I quite like carrying teams, as long as the randoms try to be helpful and participate in objectives.

I like playing with people who are better than me, not only to learn from them but also to challenge myself to keep up with them. Also, 4 solid teammates working together like a well-oiled machine and barrelling through the enemies is always a great experience. Like a *real* squad!
Pretty much how I feel.

In Plat I enjoy playing with those better than me but in Gold it seems more fun with 1 other that is equal or better.

what if i score. 300k and all they did was run away from the enemy?b00g13man wrote...
Neither. Carrying has to be one of the most misused terms btw. If you aren't soloing multiple waves on your own, you aren't carrying.

In my opinion, if it gets to that point, you aren't doing a very good job.
I noticed that over time, that happened less and less. Pugs aren't getting better. It's me killing more stuff, handling revives well, etc. that really prevents that from happening often.
