Something in between.
I don't like 15 revives medal on wave 2, and I also don't play this game to bump my score-peen.

The only person I am mostly competing with is myself, if someone can stay with me then I prefer the challenge of staying ahead in score over carrying a team.

Bad teammates make the game more interesting. Playing with competent people just turns into a constant competition to see who can get to the spawns first.

I quite like carrying teams, as long as the randoms try to be helpful and participate in objectives.

Playing with 3 players better than me just utterly trivialized platinum and made it into a race to the spawns, so now I most enjoy playing duos with good players - means there are enough enemies to go around usually.

I'm fine with either. Now that I'm able to at least semi-carry gold games, I'm much more comfortable jumping into a gold pug and there's at least a little bit of satisfaction that I'm the one doing the carrying and not being carried, and as long as the other players aren't being dumb, I don't mind doing a bit of carrying.
Had one last night on a gold pug where I came in at wave 2 or 3 and still outscored everyone else by a good 15k, it was gratifying to know I can consistently score high.  I know score isn't everything, but it does mean something.

On the other hand, things just go so much smoother and faster with good teammates where I'm not clutching every other wave.

I guess on the balance, I'd rather have competent teammates.

I don't know. I enjoy playing with people who are interesting to talk to and generally do just stupid stuff at this stage. The competitive fire has pretty much left me. I still enjoy clutching waves like a boss when friends go down which is pretty infrequent, I still enjoy learning from those more talented at certain kits than I am as well.

I always like to have at least one PUG though just to see WTF they will do.

Why...on God's green earth...would anyone...ever want/like to carry a team? You're asking whether I prefer 50 minute games or 20 minute games. I'm baffled by the question. Why would I ever want to be the only one doing all the work? Those games are lengthy, boring, sometimes tough and always frustrating.

Trying to keep up with another good player is fun and makes for quick games.

How can there even be a choice in this matter?

I'm just...wow. This is...wow.

Just today, I was playing with an extremely strong team. The strongest team I've played with in a very long time. It was tough keeping up with the other players. Having said that, the games were quick, clean, smooth and most of all fun. Highly enjoyable. Why some people dislike these kinds of games is entirely beyond me.

Choice C: Keeping a whole team alive even if they are lesser players.

That is the choice the very best players make.

I like playing with people who are better than me, not only to learn from them but also to challenge myself to keep up with them. Also, 4 solid teammates working together like a well-oiled machine and barrelling through the enemies is always a great experience. Like a *real* squad!

In Plat I enjoy playing with those better than me but in Gold it seems more fun with 1 other that is equal or better.

Shout out to Goku A3 and his buddies. Playing Warlord on Plat like a boss!

Neither. Carrying has to be one of the most misused terms btw. If you aren't soloing multiple waves on your own, you aren't carrying.

In my opinion, if it gets to that point, you aren't doing a very good job.

I noticed that over time, that happened less and less.  Pugs aren't getting better.  It's me killing more stuff, handling revives well, etc. that really prevents that from happening often.
