Neither. Carrying has to be one of the most misused terms btw. If you aren't soloing multiple waves on your own, you aren't carrying.

100% correct.

Why...on God's green earth...would anyone...ever want/like to carry a team? You're asking whether I prefer 50 minute games or 20 minute games. I'm baffled by the question. Why would I ever want to be the only one doing all the work? Those games are lengthy, boring, sometimes tough and always frustrating.

Trying to keep up with another good player is fun and makes for quick games.

How can there even be a choice in this matter?

I'm just...wow. This is...wow.

some of us are better. and a glacier game can take as little as 15min even if I do most of the work.

if a game takes 50 min. lower the difficulty.

If you carry well, there's no need to clutch waves, I can have 25min platinum games where I do the most, I have fun protecting the PUGs from dangers :) Flanking enemies, eliminating distant threats, etc. If you support the PUGs you can do two thing: your score will be high (I personally don't care) and you'll be less pressured by enemies.

I prefer carrying the team, playing with better players is not bad for a while but for me over time I get less motivated because platinum doesn't feel like platinum anymore it feels like i'm playing on a casual difficulty in SP.

Both.

"Carrying" I like to refer to as "pacing"; showing the players who aren't as experienced as me how to move on the field. I like to help players that aren't as good as me however I can, and to me that's best done by leading by example. I don't like to say "carry" because we've all been there and had to start somewhere.

Watching someone better than you and trying to keep up just reminds you that there is another level ahead of you and to keep pushing. I enjoy this also because I am constantly striving to improve.

That is the choice the very best players make.

lol.

Beerfish should start a presidential campaign for S.P.H.I.N.C.T.E.R. with that tune.

I play with my friends, who happen to be utter scrubs with great personalities. (which means they have skill in this game)

Well anyways, I have to take care of them as if they were little puppies or we would all die in dire agony (sometimes we do). I wish they were better so that my back didn't hurt as much but it's alright, I love them anyways.

Other than that... Having fun with friends is what I usually go for in this game :P

I like suicidally rushing into spawns, so neither, I guess. Between the two, though, carrying is epeen boosting, but having competent players around makes the game a more relaxing experience.

If I had to choose between those two choices I'd pick the latter:  trying to keep up rather than carrying everyone else.

The absolute best type of PUG for me personally is one where I'm not carrying or being carried though. Score-wise, usually the most enjoyable games I have are where I've taken a non-crutch kit and come in second place to a player with a crutch kit.

I can relate.  I stumbled upon an excellent lobby earlier.  17 min Glacier (Gold) and everything didn't even go correctly.  That was a ton of fun.

Neither. I just do what I do and have fun. On PC, anyway.

On Xbox, I just want everyone else on the team to carry me while I struggle to learn how to use the controller, I don't want to have to try to clutch a pug as I flail around with that thing.

I find myself agreeing with kook and Simba on this one. I hate long games. And if I score 200K in a gold while my teammies didn't even break 100, I most certainly carried their scrubby behinds to victory, as the odds that they would have completed the match without my help (or another veteran) are slim.

My favorite matches are when all four players are very close on the scoreboard, and it ended in ~20 minutes or less.
